I am in utter shock after reading this story. I had no idea there was such an awful adoption scandal going on in our country this terrible. The story of the Tennessee Children's Home Society and it's awful founder Georgia Tann broke my heart.

Although this stories characters are fictitious it's crazy to think that this type of ordeal happened for so many poor children in the 20's through the 50's. It's important we know this part of history so it never happens again. I really appreciate Lisa Wingate for shining light on such a horrible situation of poor parents being duped out of their children with no knowledge of the pain and suffering they would endure. The strength these children must have had, especially those old enough to know they were taken from their loving parents, is beyond comprehension.

I would recommend this book to any and all readers to shine some light on the hidden history in our country.
