The 3N keeps things running. It is the pinnacle of state-sponsored artificial general intelligence, guiding citizens in their lives, aiding humans in making decisions, and solving society’s most pressing problems.
But some parts of society would prefer the technology did not exist at all. Vilified as ‘luddites’, those displaced by the onslaught of progress and The Great Collapse now try to lead simple, unencumbered lives.
But, for Robin Fielding, that simple life is shattered when the infallible 3N insists he has committed a terrible crime.
At the same time, an old friend crashes back into Robin’s life. Facing her own mortality, Morgan wonders if the simple life is all it’s cracked up to be, or whether the 3N is just too convenient to turn her back on.
