The book captivated me from the beginning and I couldn't stop reading. I don't know how much would be considered a spoiler, so I'll skip the parts that I am glad to not have seen coming (although I've seen a lot of reviews include full pages of the book without marking it as spoiler).

You follow a group of little girls who suddenly find themselves in a forest under mysterious circumstances, while their little lives go from carefree to really really dark and twisted.

The contrast of a beautiful watercolor with horrific imagery is one of the things that I like about this book, even though many things are intentionally left unclear. I do feel like a lot of the allegory went over my head (I'm not very good with symbolism) and some of the stuff deeply disturbed me, yet it didn't ruin my overall enjoyment.
