Ballistic

The Gray Man series is right up there with Jack Reacher and Jason Bourne as a fun action series. This particular novel - Ballistic - involved Cort getting unintentionally involved with a Mexican Cartel and the family of a man who once saved his life. These are fast-paced action novels that work well. If you like the genre, you'll like these books.

The Gray Man wages a one-man war on the drug cartels south of the border. It's non-stop action, as one comes to expect from the series, but this book shows just how smart Gentry is. He has to stay in front of many, many forces out to kill him. At the start of the book he's just trying to stay alive. But once he's motivated to take more practice action, it's not long before the bad guys are running for cover. This makes for a frenetic level of action and a crazy fun read.

I like the level of backstory we get in this installment.

Also, the imagery in this story was more smoothly accessible. This is the main reason it earned four stars.
