Slow burn, hurt/comfort romance weakened by an annoying ex who had no real reason to keep showing up other than to keep the MCs apart for a little longer. Some nice character growth, with Colton especially; he starts out as a mess of a young adult with a traumatic history, ADHD and little self-esteem and he learns to appreciate his own value and accept help from others as well as Marcel's love. And Marcel is interesting in that he is just so tired of having to prove that a person with a disability can be exceptional - remember when characters with disabilities were portrayed as weak and helpless? He just wants a normal life and someone to love him without having to be Super Disabled Person. One more book with the “tattooed gay mafia” and their friends in Fairfield Colorado ([b:Forsaken 53022897 Forsaken (Breaking the Rules, #3) E.M.
