This book is so ridiculous, I don't think I can make myself read another word. It's not even trying to be believable in any way. It's not very well written, and the dialogue is...pretty bad. It's the book equivalent of a bad porno.
Here are some examples of absurdities I already encountered:
- Kael's handler, who Kael raped at school when they were younger, now wants Kael to fuck him.
- Kael goes to kill a guy, and this guy wants Kael (who he doesn't know and who just shows up randomly at his door) to flog him and fuck him.
- Angel hides terrified in his shower after Kael kills his stepdad, but Kael joins him and Angel immediately trusts him when he says he won't hurt him. He goes immediately into Kael's arms and then wants Kael to fuck him - are you sensing a pattern yet?
- On the plane, Angel gives Kael a hand job, leaving his hand in Kael's pants after. The steward comes over later and this is the point that Kael removes Angel's hand. Apparently this is normal mid-flight behavior, because the steward's only response is to tell Kael that Angel is a lucky boy, oh and then ask Kael to fuck him. Sigh.
So that's the point I gave up. I just can't suspend my disbelief enough to enjoy this at all.
