The strongest of the series so far. Much more tightly plotted, and having characters in different timelines was a nice twist. Otherwise, the same as before... sex, historical events, sex, and drama. It???s a good middle ground between high literature and brain candy
I'm a push-over for American revolutionary War epics, but I didn't appreciate the choppy ending in this one. Still, some big character moments happened in this one so overall a solid addition to the series.
You know, normally by the 7th book in a series you get a little tired of the writing style and general themes of an author-but not with Diana Gabaldon. This is probably my favorite in the series since Outlander itself.

I almost didn't buy this one due to the reviews but I downloaded it on Kindle while I waited for the next book to arrive and I'm glad I did. Yes, I skimmed some parts. But in general I liked it. Lots of time with Jamie and Claire. I wish she had edited the series and each book to cut out at least a quarter of the material that does nothing to advance the story or even deepen my knowledge of the main characters, and while I've been thoroughly enjoying the series I do want the story to end at some point. This book's ending left many loose ends so I'm glad I waited to read it until the next in the series was published and I could start in immediately.
This was the latest book in the series. Once again I think that it was entirely to long. I think that some things were put in the book that are so out of character for some of these characters. So many ends were left untied which is ok I guess since there will be another book but I hope that it's the last book in the series. I would really like to see the main characters, Jamie and Claire, at peace and enjoying their old age. There are so many things that happen to them that I feel sorry for them most of the time... and feel like some of this stuff is just unrealistic.
