American Dirt

This story was so gripping, sad, and funny at times. I know this book has some negative notions about it but this story is told so wonderfully I couldn't put it down.

This story is about a mother escaping her home country with her young child to start anew after a horrific tragedy slays her family. I know there are many who are dealing with this sort of daily violence and uncertainty and it was extremely eye opening and so worth the read to attempt to understand the perils migrants face.
