Another great story in the Alex Cross series - although I was sad to see what happened to Ava at the end. But then they had no real DNA evidence, just the necklace. Could have been anybody?!
I was going to read something else next but think I'll read the next book in the Alex Cross series instead - just in case something new comes to light!
First of, I got this book through a Goodreads giveaway.
I've never heard about the “Alex Cross” series or even James Patterson before. (Then again I just started reading seriously this year, so pardon me.)
I just jumped right in with no expectations at all. And boy was it a fun ride.
This book has everything I could wished for in the crime/detective genre. A full packed story with more than one murder, gruesome deaths, pretty girls and and and.
I got attached to the characters pretty fast and the pages turned themselves.
The really short chapters were nice too. It felt like I would watch a tv show and every chapter is a scene.
This sure wasn't the last book I read about “Alex Cross” or from Patterson.
Alex makes some dumb moves in the installment of James Patterson's longest running series. But moreover, the story seemed to be lacking a bit in excitement. The killers are kind of one-dimensional and boring. The two ‘main' cases were carbon copies of everything else you've ever read. The third case that Alex doesn't even know if happening was much more interesting and Patterson didn't even really get into it too much.
Maybe this is proof positive that Patterson is completely losing his touch. These are the only books that he writes by himself and the last few just haven't been as good as they used to be.
