Again, Rachel is the sequel to Rachel's Holiday. It is set 20 years on from where Rachel's Holiday left off.
I'm not going to tell you what happens, but I will tell you that this book will make you laugh and cry in equal measure.
It was great to be back with the Walsh family again, to see how they've changed, or not, since we last met.
This book just makes me feel all my feelings. The highs are high and the lows are low. I love Rachel and her story every step of the way. I listened to the audiobook and found myself wanting to turn down the speed just so I could prolong the experience.
I really like Rachel's Holiday (and it's absolutely needed to appreciate this book), but Again Rachel is so satisfying. It gives me a lovely feeling of nostalgia from start to finish.
I was a little apprehensive going into this one, I enjoyed ‘Rachel's Holiday' but it was difficult in some parts.
Read this on holidays and fell in love though. I think Keyes' writing style has only improved over the years as I really enjoyed this. I found it an interesting and enjoyable read and would say i preferred it to the first! After this I would be interested in trying some more of Marians work, if it's anything like this then I think I would really love them.
DNF at 15% I skipped ahead and saw the plot hinged on a tragic event that I couldn't bear to read about (Rachel's pregnancy ends with a stillbirth). YMMV if you are made of tougher stuff than I am.
Extremely well crafted because after all its Maryan Keyes. Also terribly sad in many ways, despite the happyish ending.
