To start let me just say that I read this at the wrong time, I am not into the narration style and didn’t like the main character. I felt annoyed the entire time reading it and wish there was more depth.
She brings up trauma from when she was younger but doesn’t really heal from that or give it the acknowledgement it might have deserved. It’s like it was added for one scene with Rory and then nothing was done much about it after or anything more than just a briefly explaining to him her trigger.
I can acknowledge that the ending message was good, that everything will be all right you can make it through anything, but to get to that point was painful. I would have appreciated this more years ago but where I am at now it wasn’t the book for me.
The Author did too good of a job making me hate Rory! I couldn’t take any more repetitive chapters of him treating Adelaide poorly! 3 Stars ⭐️⭐️⭐️!
I read this for a reading challenge I'm doing for the prompt about mental health. Adelaide goes through so much! Her love for Rory made me mad as she was blind for quite some time with how he treated her. Her besties were all amazing. I'm glad it had a happy ending!
Well, I loved this book! Adelaide is such a likable character - as are the other female characters that are developed throughout. Rory and Adelaide's first boyfriend? They suck. BUT, their behaviors and attitudes are what really set the tone for what the main focus of this book is about. We follow Adelaide as she's looking for love, all while navigating toxicity in relationships. There's heartbreak, glimmers of love & hope, and fiercely loyal friends that really make this book shine. This book is incredibly relatable, especially with facing toxic relationships and even more so - the desire to be loved in all the wrong places. This book (and Adelaide herself!) definitely left a mark on my heart.
I would 100% recommend!

4.4- it was sad and full of hope but the author's writing flowed well in my brain I enjoyed reading it.
This book was so wonderfully beautiful and heart-wrenching. I loved the depth of our main character and her subsequent rises and falls. She was incredibly human and had pieces any reader could identify with.
Very beautifully and vividly written. I related to so many different parts of Adelaide, and every time I picked up this book I felt comforted. A sweeping story of love; but at its core loving yourself. I especially loved the epilogue. so happy Adelaide got the happy ending with Bubs (and peace with losing Rory) she truly deserved
This book took me through highs and lows so I'm not sure what I think about it.
