A Shocking Accident

An interesting collection of short stories. Perhaps they are all well known - certainly many of them are - I don't consider my knowledge in fiction (beyond the limited authors I read) very well fleshed out.

They are a good collection with a common theme - Stories with a Twist in the Tail is the subtitle. All of these are very short, and when a story this short is amusing, it is easy to rate it 4 stars, when they fail to capture my attention, they are easy to rate 2 stars. To Build a Fire - Jack London - Review Here - The deepest of the stories in this collection. **At the Airport - Marina Mizzau - Just a bit silly really **Children of the Vaults - Vladimir Korolenko - Never heard of this author, but this was a great story, well paced, heartfelt. **
The Night the Bed Fell - James Thurber - Another silly events story. Sredni Vashtar - Saki - Didn't connect with this one. So I make that 6x 2 star stories; 3x 3 star stories & 6x 4 star stories.Technically that would make this a 3 star book, but really it is quite an admirable little collection, worth the 4 stars. It would be well worth it if you haven't already read a few of these, like I had.4 **
