This was extremely short. My favorite part was the translator's note at the end.
Not for me. Bringing the climate change angle into a magical tale seemed a bit strange to me. This is my personal opinion, maybe someone else might find it very interesting, but that's not me. I also prefer magical tales to have more magic and less realism; this book stunned me with real-world facts far too often. Not my style. I did not enjoy it.
Nice ideas, interesting plot line - but the writing did not really work for me l. Would have been better as a graphic novel perhaps.
it was fun! a bit too short to really build on its subject matter, but i liked what we got to see!
the main character and her internal struggles were compelling, and i liked seeing her growth throughout. the ending did feel a bit too convenient and abrupt for my liking, but i think it made sense within the context of the book. i'd also like to shout out the very cool illustrations at the start of each chapter - they kept me engaged!
overall, a pretty interesting usage of the magical girl trope! i probably won't think about this much after finishing it, but i did have a good time reading it.
The writing style wasn't truly my thing and I think this might be more literary fiction? But the premise and how it all shakes out is really interesting. I'm glad I read it!
To be honest, I did not know what to expect from this book, but it was overall a very fun time.
P.S. It also helped that I rewatched a season of Sailor Moon recently.
