Not going to lie, I picked this book up thinking it was something else with a very similar title... but this book was still okay! I finished it in a day even after realizing it was not what I originally wanted. The plot was easy enough to guess. The characters were nothing overly original but still entertaining. It had dragons and magic so I can't really complain. It was a fun quick read.
*Spoiler here*
Stig is officially waaaaaaayyyyy worse than Dain Aetos. So kudos to the author for making a much worse childhood best friend to jealous love rival to enemy. Cause Stig can get eaten by a dragon for all I care.
This had so much promise but fell short on just about everything. The characters were flat and boring. I did not care for any one of them, even when it was painfully obvious that the author wanted us to care. The plot was nonexistent until the last 5% of the book and even then it was rushed. The spicy scenes were so cringy and hard to read. At one point the FMC called her breasts “peaches” and that was just the start. The “twist” was not surprising and you can clearly see the author setting it up. I hated Fell and Stig. Both men are assholes and don't deserve redemption.. apparently as the reader we are just supposed to move past this and not be bothered about them. I HATE Tamsyn. She is so annoying with her inconsistent actions. If you read this just be aware that you won't be surprised she got treated like a door mat. But she tries to grow and change into a “strong” character, but again falls short and remains the door mat.
This is a warning for anyone who thought this involves dragons (the creature) and not dragon shifters.. this is a shifter book. Imagine how disappointing it is to find out that the dragons aren't actual dragons like the synopsis made it seem.. Honestly, this was so disappointing and not at all well written. I won't be continuing this series, as I have absolutely no interest in anything that will happen in the next one.

OMG!!!! I need book 2 IMMEDIATELY!!! This book was absolutely incredible. The love story between Fell and Tamsyn was so beautiful and the tension between them two was soooooo palpable and excruciating in the best way. I cannot wait to see how the next book plays out with everything that was revealed in this one. Probably my favorite book of the year. If I could give this book 6 stars I would.
I don't often read romantasy books, preferring fantasy over the romance aspect, but this book gave me everything that I could possibly want for a book in its genre; an arranged marriage despite a potential love triangle, a hidden identity (both known and unknown) and hinted soul mates with confirmation towards the end due to them both being Dragons/dragon shifters.
The initial half of the story gave me massive Under the Oak Tree / Marriage of Convenience vibes, with the demand of a princess as a reward for massive war deeds, and the medieval time period it seems to be set in. I also must admit I saw a pretty big spoiler for this book, but it didn't take away from the experience and actually had me seeing signs right from the very beginning. Not only that, but I didn't expect this book to focus so much more on the fantasy aspect and experiences Tamsyn went through over the steamy scenes that romantasies are usually more known for, but I thoroughly enjoyed it all.
Despite all the above, I was not prepared for the ending at all. It definitely left me wanting, and I will be eagerly awaiting the sequel because there are just too many unanswered questions.
