Author Bio

I am a writer and broadcaster based in London. A former editor at The Sunday Times Style magazine, I have also written for The Guardian, GQ, ELLE, The Cut, House & Garden, Vogue and Grazia. In July 2020 I published an essay collection How Do We Know We’re Doing It Right? which was a Sunday Times bestseller and in November 2022, I edited the anthology, What Writers Read: 35 Writers On Their Favourite Book (with profits going to The National Literacy Trust) which was chosen as the Waterstones non-fiction book of the month.

I was the co-creator and co-host of the No.1 women’s culture podcast, The High Low, and I am the host of The Missing, a podcast about long-term missing people, which was nominated for a British Podcast Award. I also host and produce an interview series, Doing It Right, about the trends, myths and anxieties of modern life and have written and hosted two No.1 audio documentary series for BBC Radio 4, Pieces of Britney and Unreal: A Critical History of Reality TV, which I wrote and hosted with Sirin Kale and also exec produced.

I regularly interview authors (such as Reni Eddo-Lodge, Candice Carty-Williams, Graham Norton, Bernadine Evaristo and David Nicholls) for publishers, podcasts and literary festivals and was a judge on the 2022 Women’s Prize for Fiction Awards. I also host panels for clients including Sky, Paramount+, The Saatchi Gallery, WeWork and The Royal Academy.
