Author Bio

Jasper Joyner is a Memphis-based author, humorist, poet, and editor. Their work has been featured in The Offing, Oldster Mag, Huffington Post, Bitch Mag, the anthology book OUTSIDE THE XY, and many others. An active mentor at the Sam & Devorah Trans Youth Project and cultural worker in their community, Jasper was awarded Trans Person of the Year 2024 by Headliners 901. Jasper currently runs digital and print zine HERE TO COMPLAIN, for Black and brown folks to share their microaggressive work stories. Their other works include chapbook, A Flamboyance, with Bottlecap Press, young adult fantasy novel, Juniper Leaves, and Pansy: A Black American Memoir, named one of Publisher Weekly BookLife’s Best of 2024 and Best Young Adult Nonfiction at the 3rd annual
