Hartmut Rosa is a German sociologist and social theorist, currently serving as Professor of General and Theoretical Sociology at Friedrich Schiller University in Jena and Director of the Max Weber Center for Advanced Cultural and Social Studies at the University of Erfurt. He is known for his work on social acceleration, resonance, and the temporal structures of modernity. His influential books include Social Acceleration: A New Theory of Modernity and Resonance: A Sociology of Our Relationship to the World
