i was so disappointed by this book and it was so hyped up in the online book community :(
my issues with the book:
- inadequate world building. like yeah, these archives can ensure initiates power but in what significant ways? i wasn't all that impressed by the library, or the society in general. i still don't get why the initiates are even necessary aside from ‘guarding' the archives
- characters were flat, most notably reina. she felt more like a background character
- this had the worst case of telling & not showing significant events. like thx for telling me nico & libby created a wormhole but like HOW?
so ruthie's parents didnt report the stolen money to the police bc they were embarrassed, BUT they made ruthie get up in front of the church community to admit her ‘irresponsibility' for losing it??? make it make sense!!!
ngl this was super hard for me to get into but the end was so exciting and that cliff hanger... definitely gonna pick up the next book
Started this book but realized I didn't care for the characters OR plot enough to commit to this book. If it's rly that good plz convince me.
3.5
this was cute and the characters had decent chemistry. the fake dating plot was fun but i don't think it will be a very memorable read
so frickin fun!! i love the suspense mixed with humor. the whole plot was pretty unexpected to me except the fact that she and nathan got back together and it gave me santa clarita diet vibes. ALSO the fact that an indonesian author is getting to much hype in the book community rn makes me feel pretty patriotic. excited for the next book :)))
4.5 stars!
i honestly really loved this book so much i wish i could read it again for the first time <3

just wanna add it's been more than a month later and i am still thinking about this book.
like, come on there are:
- k-pop idols!!!
- a forbidden romance!
- lots of references to korean food, culture, customs, and idol life
- a really sweet wholesome romance (with NO spice so it is very PG for u younger readers)
- the hardcover is TO DIE FOR
if you're looking for a nice, quick, wholesome read PLZ pick this up <3
2.5
was fully gonna stop reading this series bc this shit it SO repetitive but the cliffhanger at the end... i guess i'll read the next one
amazing!! this was a lot funnier than i expected and surprisingly lighthearted. i wanna binge them all forreal
It is quite a revelation to discover that the place you wanted to escape to is the exact same place you escaped from. That the prison wasn't the place, but the perspective.
If I could marry a book, I'd marry this one. from all the fiction I've read centered on mental health, this one was very unique. Nora decides to end her life at the beginning of the book, and throughout she explores the different paths her life could have potentially taken given she made different decisions - funnily enough, she isn't happy as an Olympian, glaciologist, or rockstar. In the end, she realizes her original life is exactly where she needs to be, and her perspective on life is what was hindering her from being happy.
As someone that deals with my own mental health issues as many others do, this book surprisingly made me more optimistic about life - things CAN get better, and looking at life from a different angle might even be the catalyst to a positive mindset.
Guys, please read this book.
uwu!!!!! As always, love dimple & rishi and love ashish & sweetie even more BUT I'm so excited for pinky & samir
more like a 4.5 :) where [b:Loveboat, Taipei 23559994 Loveboat, Taipei (Loveboat, Taipei, #1) Abigail Hing Wen https://i.gr-assets.com/images/S/compressed.photo.goodreads.com/books/1589494372l/23559994.SY75.jpg 43159618] was full of teenage angst and learning to fit in, loveboat reunion is about self-discovery and acceptance. if you've read the first book, sophie and xavier were a mess. the sequel starts with a brand new ‘i'm gonna be making my own bag and not rely on a man' sophie and an ‘i hate my dad and my rich family' xavier. i found both protagonists to be well dynamic and, surprisingly, i was very satisfied with how the family drama was tied up and the MC's HEA :) it really is nice to see a healthy relationship develop for a change: seeing sophie and xavier support each others' ambitions really warms my heart <3
