A bit hard, was tricky at some places. I don't think i understood some chapters completely. But I hope I'll understand them later when I revisit the concepts.
I think i will give it a better rating when i reread it, but that was a great book. In the beginning i was a bit confused, because this writing style was new to me, but at the end I realized that it's one of the best books I've ever read. From the vibe it gives, to the meaning it holds. I recommend it to anyone who wants to read something fresh.
I think the only thing I didn't like much about this book was that it talked a lot about politics and I am not that into it. That being said, I loved the way Orwell delved into the narrator's mind, it felt fresh. The world building was great, too. But the book handled politics and problems that aren't relevant today. I will recommend it to anyone slightly interested in politics. It's a great book.
Hopefully this book will mark my return to reading (for pleasure).
I've been so busy last year that I didn't give reading much attention. I hope by some will of mine and love for literature I'll get out of that slump.
The book itself is nice, it's a bit formulaic and the formula gets boring after a couple of times. The best stories where the ones that broke the formula and added some horror elements to it.
What bothers me is that often I solve the case before it's solved or have a rough idea of who's guilty. Maybe the stories lackes some depth because of the 20-page limit for each story. Or maybe I am just a genius, who knows!
Great characterization, not that thrilling of a story. But my first Batman comic book anyway, so I'll give it a pass.
My first french book and made me really consider doing my masters in Paris and living in Montmartre
JK is a magnificent writer. What always drawn me to the harry potter series was how comfortable it feels reading them. From the first book, I always liked the trio(Ron, Hermione and Harry) wandering around the castle.
But now when I' ve read this far , although I still love the world building techniques of JK, now I come back to know more and more about the characters. How the reader is immersed in this world and knows little by little about Dumbledore, Voldemort and Snape was very well done and I don't think I've ever encountered a franchise with such well written characters.
Good job Rowling!!
