Uh excuse me but I LOVED this book. Both characters were so real and the writer is truly that girl because normally I get cynical and roll my eyes at inner monologues a lot but I didn't with this book. Nubia and Steph are a wonderful couple and I thoroughly enjoyed their story!
This was wild as hell lmao WELL WRITTEN but wiiiiiild. I read it because we discussed it on the podcast and Jhen really sold it to me. But WIIIIIIILD.
BRB looking at flights to Scotland. But only if the blacksmiths are like Tavish. Whew lord.
Who do I have to talk to so we can get this book as a movie?! I need to see the mountains, the wildflowers, the majestic beauty of wild California and romance between black people. This was... SO GOOD. but also what I've come to expect from Miss Bev.
Re-reading the bridgerton series and I almost forgot how much I liked Anthony's sorry behind. Such a great story (much better than Daphne) and I can't wait to see it on the telly as a part of the show's second season.
Infuriating immature heroines are a landmark of a regency romance and this one was no different. St. John really had his work cut out for him. I like the little side story about Rock though, bless him.
I wanted to like it but it was kinda weird and also this white lady's sister is a voodoo priestess? I get she's like half or quarter Creole or whatever but also squints
Otherwise, it was fun in some parts, super dated in others. PDAs and belt clips for phones used to be cool when this book was written but now I HAVE TO laugh lol
Excuse me, but I LOVED this! Been on a reading block lately but this was sooooo cute and heartwarming. My eyes glazed over at the data parts now and then but I genuinely liked the two leads and Juno, Juno is the best kid.
Holy crap I LOVED IT. It started off slow but was still engaging even in the slow parts. I laughed, I cried, I felt a myriad of emotions. My surprise favorite of this year.
Let's TELENOVELA! But not really. If you liked Jane the Virgin and other telenovela shows that break the fourth wall, this is for you.
Man this was...idk man. IDK. They wanted me to feel sorry for this hero but he was an ASSHOLE. They gave the reason but still. No.
Hooooooooly sheeeeeet. I loved this. Towards the start I thought I had this book all figured out. I was smug in my sureness but then the book took a SHARP LEFT TURN AND HIT THE GAS and baby what a ride. Thoroughly enjoyed it and can't wait for a sequel!
Excuse me but I LOVED this book. It was so cute and had some laugh out loud moments. It would make a great Netflix movie too.
One thing though, if you're not familiar with British slang and how they talk in general, some things might be confusing or fly over your head.
Also HELLO BLACK LEAD WOW, WE LOVE TO SEE IT.
Poor Noah. Lol it was a sweet and easy read, with characters I already know and like in their usual whirlwind of romantic chaos.
It was really sweet but there were some White Woman Problems moments that I was like girl what?!!?! about lol otherwise it was a great book and one of the best from 2020's hellscape.
What the fresh hell is this book. DNF.
Dysfunctional and cruel marketed as humorous. I couldn't feel sorry for the heroine who was really the author of her own demise for being the same as her future mother-in-law who she despises, a neurotic pathological liar. She listens to her dumbass friends who all hate, nay, resent her fiance because his wealthier than them and one of them is an internet conspiracy theorist who hates dentists. This same nitwit who she HATES but still takes sides with and listens to about her relationship. This woman is a dummy. I'm not a fan of reading about dysfunctional relationships existing long past their prime. Just fucking break up, already. Roll credits.
Ok so I LOVE this world that Juliette Cross is building. I am also a sucker for books based in New Orleans. Mateo and Evie were also super cute and geeky. It was a lovely read.
