More like a thriller
Some actions are a bit of a stretch in logic but still is enjoyable and I consumed it in 2 bites :)
Some time ago there was this guy wanting to write, but he has no patience and also no willingness, is that a word?, to think about many types of necessary story parts, like dialogs and different putting into scene moments, so eventually he decided to just enjoy more or less great shit written by others. And there is plenty... more or less great.
But this one it is well done, well cooked all around, nice everything, nice mood, nice and patiently put into scene and also nice chosen era and thema, like ww2 and comics. I enjoy good comics although no coloured clothes wearing super hero type.
It is a story that I enjoyed plenty, and the author has skills and vocabulary :)
What I want to say is that I can enjoy also not only Kafka or Nabokov but less skilled and verse in language fellow writers but this one it is skilled in that direction, I felt good just because of the chosen phrasing. Loved it. Is great ;)
No moment of boredom, specially if you are curious on how to really become a TRUE Sith believer :)
Man, ...., I have the feeling I started to read this book an year ago, it is so diverse in action, ideas, and has so much in it to make you think or feel something, or both.
Just ... wait for it, I can say that even for 1/4 of the book.
No spoilers.
This guy is amazing, a true genius, super talented; the writer I mean, now will check what else is translated already.
I tried
Is not literature
I found the book on some known magazine list, highly recommended (my memory ...)
Fu#$ this sh%t
I just started The Final Empire (Mistborn #1)
by Brandon Sanderson and is like after you are drawning you can breath again or something :)
Is like you get the antidote for some poison you ingested, high at some stupid party
Anyway
Very different from the first part but felt so good to read it although is not my usual favorite meal, which is a skillful phrasing style (not only that ...) ... usually, I think :), and that shows the power of this writer, more of in the same book different moods, paces and eras are to be found, sometimes is like a thriller, sometimes like a documentary.
So is not the same as the 3 body problem but again amazing stuff.
Real good
This one of a few books I read that has no boring page. Real pleasure. Also quite different from first book and I appreciate the fact that had some of previous characters but different view and main ones
Is like a stripped down version of For the win
Not bad but I donno I felt like wanting more
Maybe not the most enchanting phrasing but it is also a real (hard) science fiction piece of work, and it suits it. I travelled to work only with the bus until I finished the book just because of that, not going with the bike on these rare clear and nice days of summer, not with the car that will save half the time... A few times per year I am happy thinking, at the end of the day, that I have to go to work next day :), and this was definitely happening now knowing I will continue reading this book.
Liked it , very pleasant read but is very different in every aspect of the first trilogy...
I was disappointed, I wanted to like it, I liked American gods and Anansi boys a lot, more like I wanted to enjoy it, even more that I saw many had it as their favorite all time book!
But no, I didn't, could not, barely hold on to finish it.
Maybe is me but I could not be happy about the fact that all the fantastic elements are totally ...
not explained, not logical and not coherent (probably my explanation here has same flaw :))
What I maybe do not explain it right is that I like fantasy and many things are just that, not real, but I do want some logical connection and here everything is lose and nothing makes sense and they do not connect; in previous books the characters I could imagine them but here they were just ...2 weak, no dimension.
I wanted to like it, I wanted to feel good reading it, I wanted to feel some nostalgia and Stranger Things similar feeling but what I get is like is written by some copy cat that lacked the skill :) to create some credible (maybe sounds weird talking about a fantasy book) world.
Not so enjoyable as the novels, seems 2 much on just showing what http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Delegative_democracy is/can be and how it can work.
Not bad, somehow I did enjoyed it but is nothing spectacular and more, I got no emotions during, nothing :(
such a good book to read just that when I was close to the end I was sure it will explain shit. Spoiler, I guess.
