Ok, I'll keep it short, I hope,
First English isn't my first language at all, nor did I really study it, so this is one thing.
Then, I definitely liked what that book offered, a lot.
The author got down to business right from the first page, no long introduction about the world or before what is about to happen, just plain and simple, the mission starts right now. And never have I felt he was "adding words to the book" even though there are some sort of side quests, they matter. And the whole book goes on like this, these are 300 pages really well packed. Massive props for this, it's exactly what I needed right now.
The scary parts probably depended on my mood but when really into the book, some of these parts actually put me in a livid state... Really there's scare for all kind of different scary, you'll likely find some things that will grab you by the stomach if you're here for this.
A little side note for what's it worth, I'm no scientist, nor detective, but I'm usually more into hard-sf and while the universe and story hold themselves fairly well, they felt like not a lot would hold under scrutiny, so I didn't bother, my main interest was for the horror for this one, and boy do I was served, so I would just recommend you let it be as it is and enjoy (as much as one can) the horror.
Finally, after I closed the book, one final question left me wondering, when did THIS start, and it go a hold on me until the next day at least, that is today. Depending on the answer it could mean a lot of different things. That's a thing I like, when a book stays with me a while after, and this one delivered. I don't think there is any true answer to this question but anyway, I can't help but make some theories and what they would mean.
Strong recommendation from me - Mr nobody - if you're into SciFi, if elongated books by the hundreds of pages disgust you, if you want to feel some hard feelings, and be the best for it -- please go for it, this may be your book.
