It was a slow start for me, but in the end I enjoyed it.

I picked this up and put it down several times. Finally decided to finish it, but while the writing itself was great on a line level, it all felt too distant and removed for me to care about the main character or, really, anyone else in the story.

All the stars. I was bawling on the plane reading this. So many truths contained within. Characters fully realized. Loved it.

Like others, I liked the ending, but parts of it were a slog because the protagonist was so annoying. I get it, your childhood was hard. But she didn't seem to grow much/enough.

A bit of a slow start for me, and I didn't love the “fairy tale” story interspersed throughout, but overall I'm glad I read it.

I didn't like the protagonist even though I loved her in the movie Brooklyn.

Good book but for once I liked the movie better.

I was never fully invested, but there were parts I really enjoyed.

As a 64-year-old, it was refreshing to read about a woman of my age living her best life. I enjoyed the quick read.

A little slow but loved Paul Newman I mean Butch Cassidy/Noble Salt and 5 stars for the 1/4th of the book.

It started a little slow for me but I really enjoyed listening to this on audiobook and it did widen my perspective.

Very well-written, felt as if the characters were real, and I loved the messages woven throughout the book.

Excellent story of a family, and of the dangers of keeping secrets, and of our country's need to provide thoughtful and comprehensive resources for those struggling with mental illness and the people who love them.

Very well written historic fiction based on a real story of an escape route run by a priest and an assortment of others during the Nazi occupation of Rome.

It was a lot like watching Reacher; I'm looking forward to the next one in the series.

Easy-to-read memoir of an American learning Parisian ways, and of a small business coping with covid, strikes and other challenges.

I almost put it aside, but because I trust the person who recommended it I kept reading and am glad I did. I liked the chemistry between the two leads.

Interesting structure, but I never engaged with the characters.

Very well done.

Interesting book about a part of the world that's very foreign to me, and the hated patriarchy and how people use religion – which is supposed to be about love – to justify doing hateful things.

Excellent non-fiction about two queens I knew nothing about and who were amazing. The men did their best to write them out of history, but they refuse to be forgotten thanks to Shelley Puhak!

This book is so good. I don't remember much of the King Arthur story and nothing of Morgan in that story, but you didn't need to know any of that to thoroughly enjoy this retelling. Highly recommend for anyone who enjoys historical fiction or good writing generally.
