I finally read this thing. I love the Calamity Trio so much. Time to read some fanfics :) this was lovely and is very dear to my heart
3 stars -> 4 starts, podobało mi się więcej niż myślałxm. Ogólnie całkiem fajnie, większość taka średnia, kilka takich co nie mają dla mnie sensu, a kilka taka co aż się uśmiechnąłum :)
i took a pretty big break around the 60-70% mark, so i dont remember the earlier chapters too well. That being said, this was an amazing read. Triggering in some ways (i had to take some deep breaths to avoid an anxiety attack multiple times), but not overly. This was honest, vulnerabile, clear as day - thats why it was scary and triggering. Because there was no hiding of the real experiences the author faced. I loved the writing style too, it was captivating and funny even in the uncomfortable moments. Sometimes it was overwhelming with it's honesty and “train of thought”.
Something still keeps me from giving it 5 stars. Something tells me it could be even better. but this was an amazing book.
Percy is – as always – the saving grace of literally anything happening. Hazel and Frank were kind of fun but mostly mediocre ngl. Percy won (as always - again) though
First of all, as hot as the darkling was, he was a bit much at times, and i waa glad to find out that and the kiss (etc) were weird and off putting on purpose. The writing is mediocre, the characters kind of unoriginal and uninteresting (although i do like them either way, especially the darkling), i didn't love the “not like other girls” attitude that appeared from time to time, the ending was alright but im not excited to continue the series, it wasn't amazing. I did really enjoy the worldbuilding though. The pacing was a little weird, with the first part of the book dragging a bit, and then a small part around the 70% mark seemingly way too short, but it wasn't too distracting. First person past tense took me out of the story a bit, some of the action sequences felt a lot less sudden and... exciting? action-packed? and i found it a bit more difficult to connect to the mc for a major part of the book. I enjoyed this anyway though, and will continue the series :)
“Do you ask your heart to beat or your lungs to breathe? Your power serves you because that is its purpose, because it cannot help but serve you.””
4,5 ★! It was a great last book, loved it, but could've been better so i cut half a star :)
This novella was a quick and very engaging read - i read it in like two and a half sittings, which is very rare for me.
The protagonist is interesting to follow and learn about, and i enjoyed the story progression, especially the relationships between characters. I lowkey wanna write a character analysis of Murderbot. The ending was bittersweet, but well written. Easily one of the better books i've read. I even laughed outloud once or twice!
