Banter! Swoony! Grumpy!
I have loved everything I've read from Lauren Asher and this is no different. The banter in this book is second to none. I absolutely loved the chemistry between Declan and Iris. I put off reading this one thinking it wouldn't live up to my expectations, but boy was I wrong. It blew them away! Everything about this book was absolutely wonderful! From the plot to the character development to the side characters, everything was smooth and effortless.
And can we talk about how swoony the grovelling is?!
I liked the first 2 books of the series, but I am only a few chapters in and I can't stand the heroine. I also hate how much of an emphasis there is on how the hero is “not cute”. Like, it's so bad that it's all anyone has droned on about for the first 12% and I just can't will myself to keep going. I am really disappointed in this one :(
Enemies to Lovers magic! 4.5 ⭐
I absolutely adore the enemies to Lovers trope and this book knocked it out of the park. I loved the banter between Remy and Tristan. I quite enjoyed the character development. This book would have been a 5 star had it not been for the miscommunication. It's the one thing that drives me batty. I loved the spice, and the side characters and overall it was a great read!
I immensely enjoyed this book - even though there were a few things that rubbed me wrong.
I do appreciate the addition of overcoming an eating disorder - but I wish the way the FMC overcame it was talked about a bit more.
I truly loved this one though. I wish the ending gave me a little bit more - but I'm glad it worked out the way it did.
Lennon and Phoenix are toxic at worst, but deep down there is definitely a lot of love that bleeds off the pages for them - especially as they grow into an actual couple.
2*.
I feel like this story had such potential, and I ended up skipping through most of it. It was lacklustre, the writing felt like that of a 12 year old, and the humour was non-existent. I felt like it was crazy insta-love, and was extremely disappointed. :(
The Fine Print by Lauren Asher
⭐⭐⭐⭐
Rowan is seriously the sweetest, once you get passed his large walls. Zahra has a way of cracking his thick exterior and eventually a beautiful love story unfolds.
Grumpy/Sunshine is probably one of my favourite tropes currently, and this one was really good! I quite enjoyed seeing a little “behind the scenes” on Amusement Park settings. I love that Zahra is such a strong character and does not take any of Rowan's crap. She has no qualms with putting him in his place and I'm living for it.
I think maybe I would have liked to have seen a bit more about her culture, because that would have been really interesting! I did enjoy the mentorship program scenes as well!
All in all, this was a fantastic read! I definitely suggest it if you like workplace & grumpy/sunshine!
*****
This book made me feel so many emotions. This was my first Claire Contreras novel, and it sure will not be my last! The writing style is amazing, the feels were terrific, and the characters were amazing. I fell in love with all the characters. From the very beginning I had a hard time putting the book down. Also, the cover art is just absolutely beautiful.
Elle and Oliver have known each other since they were kids, as Oliver is Elle's brothers best friend. Growing up both Elle and Oliver knew they were not allowed to have feelings for each other. And Oliver was determined to be a successful doctor, so he went off to finish his education. Meanwhile, Elle opens an art studio and pursues her love for art, by making Kaleidoscope Hearts.
Times got rough for Elle, and now that Oliver is back, he's willing to do anything to prove that he really wants to be in her life. He's not going to give her up this time around.
Spectacular RH!
This book took me out of my comfort zone of reading and I loved it. I am a fan of RH and Romance, but newer to the world of paranormal. I absolutely loved the guys. Saige is a wonderful FMC, strong when she needs to be. I can't wait to continue the series and find out more about Saige and her harem !
Ugh, Cambria...you never fail to disappoint me. 5* for sure. This story is so beautiful. I love Arrow and Hopper <3
I'm not usually a fan of high school, but SJ Sylvis has done a great job. This is my first book by SJ Sylvis and I enjoyed her writing style.
Gemma and Isiah are beautiful. Gemma is this sheltered girl who just wants to be free from her past, and Isiah has immense pressure on him and wants to be free of his future.
The character progression of Gemma is amazing. As she's free from her uncle, she's able to be herself. She's able to be a normal teenager and enhance her love for art. The friendships she builds while at St Mary's is amazing, and they supportive of her as she learns so many new things. Being sheltered kept her from knowing about normal teenage things, so it's a whole new world.
Isiah is an interesting character and I saw that broken boy for what he was....afraid. Afraid of love, of giving himself to someone and have them be broken. He doesn't want Gemma to be brought into the life that he is destined for. He's determined to keep his distance...but he needs her. He's on probation and she needs to be his cover. So he strikes up a deal...but he cannot resist the Good Girl. Isiah may be “alpha” type, but he isn't there to control Gemma... He loves watching her thrive and become herself. He is there to bring her up and watch her rise.
All in all, this book was great! The cliffhanger has me on edge and I can't wait to dive into the next one to finish and figure out what's going on with Isiah! It is super slow burn, which I wasn't fully expecting. I don't typically read reviews before reading a book, so I was surprised at how slow this book was. So keep that in mind if you're looking for something with spice, you won't really find it here. The scenes that are here though, are really good. The Forest scene was
Beautifully finished
Man, this series would be amazing with the “next generation” of birds. It was so beautifully finished, and Kate Stewart has ripped my heart out over and over again. Im in awe of this story !
Rhys and Bridget. Ugh I'm in love! These two! This was so wonderfully written and Ana Huang is quickly becoming a favourite author. This is my second book (the first being Twisted Love) and I'm so madly in love with her stories! I went in blind, only knowing what was told in the first book, that Bridget is a princess and Rhys her bodyguard. I didn't realize how slow this was going to burn and I'm so not upset.
It's told over the course of a few years and we get to see them slowly fall in love. Rhys has a troubled past from his upbringing and the Navy and he is not interested in love. Bridget carries a lot of responsibility as the princess, especially when she finds out she must become Queen - something she didn't want. Through all the troubles they encounter, the sneaking around, the law, these two end up fighting for their love and come out so strong.
Such a beautiful read!
Wow!
This book was SO heavy, so I advise caution going in if you have any triggers as this book is loaded with them.
That said .. Tate James completely outdid herself on this one. This was full of action, full of revenge, full of everything I expected yet somehow so much more. Fantastic ending to a fantastic series.
Unbelievable
As always Tate James knocks it out of the park. That cliffhanger at the end has me wondering so, so many things. I need to know what the reason was! As always I finish this book at night and I can't start the next one until morning and I want to cry.
Emily McIntire did it again! Such a heartfelt, heart wrenching story between two people who shouldn't have fallen in love. Despite their struggles, they figured out how to make it work. Absolutely love the writing style. Now onto the next one!
I really enjoyed this book. The banter, the friendships, the love. I expected more of the “bad boy” thing, but I didn't get it, and I was REFRESHED. Yes, he has his past, but he seems so sure of his love. I enjoyed this book immensely!
Second Chance Vow by ARC Review
⭐⭐⭐⭐
This story broke me exactly the way I thought it was going to. Christian and Kinley are on the brink of divorce due to a few years of losing themselves. I absolutely loved how we got flashbacks to when they were in love, and the trials and errors of their 20 year relationship. Their second chance Vow is absolutely beautiful, and I loved watching them fall in love all over again. They were able to find themselves again!
I'm so happy I got chosen for an ARC as I have absolutely enjoyed this series and cannot wait to continue!
I enjoyed this one! I thought the banter between the characters was cute, the little surprise halfway through made my heart happy, and the HEA was
Love!
I didn't want this story to end! Such a beautiful second chance romance! I love forced proximity and add in a snow storm, a Christmas blanket, a little rum, and a power outage and you've got yourself one hell of a story! I wish I knew more about these two beautiful people ❤️
Nikki Sloane is the hottest writer I've read to date! I fell in love with the two main characters. I read this book in 2 days because I could just NOT put it down! Very well done 5+ stars!
Great starter for A Kiss To Remember. I can't wait to find out what happens in the next book!
Great world building
Tate James does it again! Such a great world building first book with some nice spice! I'm curious to see how this series plays out.
I will say the plot seems a little too close to Madison Kate series, but it's still dragging me in. I need all the answers! Also, hello Zed ...where can I order myself one of those?
Gah! Can I just say how amazing Emily McIntire is at story telling? I'm fully engrossed in this series right now and can't tear my eyes away from the page.
The relationship between Becca and Eli is full of tension and I LOVE it. I love the progression of their characters and really digging deep into their messed up past and trying to look beyond it.
I love that the story is entangled in between the other books, and with the nice cliffhanger in the epilogue I can't wait to read Jax's story next!
I do wish we had a little bit...“more” to the end of Becca and Eli's story, it ended slightly abruptly. Though I'm sure I'll see them in the next couple of books as well!
