I mean thank goodness we're finally out of Nevermore. The last couple books have been ridiculous and I'm sincerely hoping this means the series as a whole will get itself back on track and we'll see some meaningful progress of storylines.

This was a quick and easy read, but this book fell into the trap so many others in the genre fell into. Namely, not a lot happened and what did happen felt out of character and disjointed. Really hoping things come back together or it might be a DNF on the series for me after Book 6.

The concept of this book was great, but I had some issues with the execution. Mainly, I just didn't care for the main character and that left me annoyed at the book far too many times. Still an enjoyable read, but I wish I had liked it more than I did.

Interesing but not engaging is what continues to come to mind for me when describing this book. I can't say I would necessarily recommend it wholesale, but it's not a bad book by any means. Just has some pacing issues and really needed something to tie it all together.

Another solid entry in this series. I'm really excited that we're starting to get into the end game and looking forward to how all of this closes out. Hopefully it won't be too many more books.

I would read anything in the Fablehaven universe and while this wasn't my favorite of those books, it still scratched a deep itch in my brain. Well worth it if you too have fond memories of the series.
