Shea Serrano is one of the best writers in sports and Pop culture. I don't think I've ever read a word he's written without feeling highly entertained. I feel shame being so many years late on reading this book. 4.5/5 other things.

I was a little disappointed. I thought the premise was interesting, but did not reach the potential I had hoped for. The author touched on the philosophy of being immortal through “copies,” but could have gone much deeper. The plot of Mickey's past deaths wasn't as interesting as I had expected. The world building with Mickey's explanation of historical events was probably the most creative writing here, but they also hinted at what happened next so clearly it was almost a spoiler. With that said, it's an easy read, interesting concept, and just fun enough it didn't feel like a waste of time. 3/5 tubes of cycler paste.

A love story wrapped in a shroud of sci-fi. Although I know most of what the book would be about midway through the first chapter, I'll admit the third act did catch me a bit by surprise. I thoroughly enjoyed the book, and felt the concept was pretty interesting. Only complaint was the ending wrapped up a little neatly, and seemed to avoid asking an obvious question to allow the ending to happen. 4/5 Ampoules.
