The Hand of Osiris is everything you want in a Western, with a supernatural flavor that makes it completely unique.

This book was great! We all have so many strange and true stories that come from nothing more complex than watching the people around us, and Nubia DuVall Wilson's are the pick of the litter! (My favorite was “Crybaby”)

These mini-essays cut with humor and a truth that can sometimes only be found in lies. When I want to look back on the delicate balance of chaos and mundanity that was the end of 2020 and the beginning of 2021 and laugh, I'll read this book again.

If the ending to Hyperion left you unsatisfied, the Fall of Hyperion will clear up a lot of mysteries!

How do you rate a book that's intentionally terrible? I had a great time, especially enhanced by mentally reading it in Garth Marenghi's voice and intonation.

Holy cow what a book! I've been describing it as a thriller/mystery - definitely a page-turner!

This book was fantastic! For being so short, it really provided a lot of fuel for some big questions about human nature and the universe, while still being deeply rooted in the personal stories of the main characters.

A charming account of the ways that intelligent species, even ones as different as octopuses and humans, can touch each others' lives. The book is focused more on telling a personal story than on explaining hard science, but many interesting scientific facts are brought up as asides.

Dealing with subjects from childhood to senility and much of what falls between, Jacob Appel's witty and passionate essays are a thought-provoking and enjoyable read.

I bought this book because it looked hilarious, but it is a legitimately good scary story, and the humor I was looking for is definitely there too!
