4.25 stars This was so good! It reminded me of a SwanQueen fic I once read. I love the relationship between Lily and Hope! It was sweet and just everything I needed xD The writing was great! I will definitely read more from this author.Reread July 2020.
3.75 stars that was intense. all the way up to the epilogue. talk about an anticlimactic ending.
4.25 stars Reread it before I picked up the second volume and this is better than I remembered! I think I had certain expectations that weren't met when I first read it. Love the art style. (January 2020)3.75 stars I first heard of this graphic novel a few years back. Someone had said that this had given her a Clexa vibe which was all I needed to pick this up (it did not disappoint). I really enjoyed this and I can see myself rereading this first volume in the future. It's about queer Valkyries/warriors trying to stand up to the patriarchy and I am here for it! I'm so happy the second volume will be coming out this summer! (January 2019)
4.5 stars “That's because my grandpa is the Vice President. His name is Mike Pence. But this story is not going to be about him. Because he isn't very fun.”LOL! Beautiful artwork, beautiful message about tolerance, love and difference. Love is love <3100% of the proceeds go to The Trevor Project <3 and AIDS United.
3 stars This was pretty entertaining, but I had some issues with the storyline. Mainly I thought it was pretty strange that Delaney decided to “investigate” when she had only just moved to Scotland didn't even know these people and nobody ever questioned her actions. Also the author seems to not know the difference between introvert and agoraphobic and that seriously bugged me. I'm probably going to read the next one in the series at some point though. I need to know what will happen with Tom and I like the McKenna's.
4 stars Well-rounded story with lgbtq+ and poc side characters. It was my first Emma Mills' book (thanks, Owlcrate!) and to be honest, I didn't think I'd enjoy it as much as I did, mostly because I don't really like Shakespeare, but I was pleasantly surprised!Claudia, the main character, is awesome and she reminded me of me a lot. She's sweet and dorky and extremely awkward at times (like when she brings a plus one to a date), but my favourite character has to be Iris. I completely fell in love with this little grumpy cinnamon roll ^.^I have to mention my utter delight when Iris said: “I'm sorry, I shouldn't have assumed you were straight.” A++
5 stars Sunny St-James is such a brave and sweet character ☀️ I'm so glad I finally got to read her story.
5 stars This is my favourite Katie O'Neill so far! The illustrations are gorgeous and it has a good message. Absolutely recommend 💖
4.25 stars This is amazing! I love the art and the humour :) I highly recommend if you've listened to the podcast, and even if you haven't (you should totally listen to it though)!
3.75 stars The illustrations are gorgeous, but nothing really happened in this volume. I'm still really excited to see where this is going.
4.5 stars I wish we would've got more Bucky, but otherwise great conclusion to this story arc.
5 stars I love a good slow-burn psychological thriller, and Fiona Barton sure knows how to write them well. I really enjoyed ‘The Widow', but I enjoyed this one even more.
4.25 stars I was a bit scared going into this; I was afraid this would be a major fail. That it would be Black Widow: Forever Red all over again, but NO!! I never should've doubted Leigh Bardugo's ability to write Diana's story. The writing was great, and that plot-twist (WHAT?? I feel like I should've seen this coming). Just one thing though. What happened to her lasso in the end? If you like YA and you like Wonder Woman you should definitely give this book a try!
1.5 stars It breaks my fangirl heart to do this, but I cannot finish this. The first one was bad, this is worse. You are telling me this is a BLACK WIDOW novel?Natasha is my absolute favourite character ever, and the characterization in this novel is TERRIBLE. It's like the author doesn't even KNOW who Natasha is. There's no way Nat would take Ava (a freaking kid!) on a super dangerous OP.I'll stick to reading fanfic, thank you very much.
