I've read several of McFadden's novels now, and I've always said it; they're not the best books you'll ever read, but they are blooming brilliant.
They're twisty with a opening that chucks you right into the drama. I love it. They're quick, nothing but fast-paced with twists and turns that will keep you page turning until the early hours of the morning when you should have been asleep hours ago.
The Boyfriend is my latest McFadden read, and probably, my least favourite so far. I just didn't love it as much as I enjoyed some of her previous. The story didn't flow for me as much as I would have liked, and I just didn't find myself wanting to unravel all the twists. The main character narrative let this one down too for me, sadly, I found our FMC just a tad too annoying for me.
I won't be giving up with McFadden though, I still think she's one of the best thriller authors we've seen in recent years!
