This book is easy to read, and makes you think it is possible to create a business. He was able to show me the other perspectives of ways to own a business that we don't need fancy ideas and resources sometimes. Also, bringing those ideas to level with your reality.
After reading Babel and the trilogy series, I have never thought Kuang would explore a modern genre. This book is refreshing of Kuang's style, and it's incredibly good. The book will keep you holding your breath like waiting for a moment to pass through, but it didn't. Only towards the end, you could finally release your lung.
I find this book has the same vibe with Gone Girl. The story entailing around psychological and thriller, with plot twists.
Picked up this book right after the House of Hollow, and finished in two days. This was equally incredible as the prior book!! Of course I expected there would be plot twist, but still it didn't fail to amaze me.
Always loved how Sutherland weaved everything together, and how beautifully it made up the story. This would be a great adaptation for a movie! Cross fingers.
p/s: This book is creepier than the HoH, so please don't read before sleep if you're not looking to get nightmares. Cause I did!
As much as I love the second half of the book, but the first half was exhilarating slow for me. :( She focused too much on building the world and context of the characters. But the wait was worth it towards the end.
Picked up the book over the holidays, and finished it in a weekend. This book was incredibly good! The dark fantasy was well-executed. There was a constant suspense, and all pieces of plot are weaved harmoniously. Loved the ending. Wish there's a series of this story.
To begin with, I am not a big fan of slice of life or slow burn books, but Sally managed to make me hooked with the book. I personally like her writing style. She writes in a very descriptive manner, hence it feels straightforward.
For the story, I think it's average. Firstly, I pity the main character. Why does she have to suffer throughout the plot. Secondly, I can't be appreciative with the story because it feels too far from me, my life. In hindsight, I take it as a learning. One good thing is, Sally did a really good job in portraying the complexities of relationships.
A classic mystery thriller by Agatha Christie. I don’t have much thoughts about the story. I feel it’s quite ordinary and I am not keen so much of classical literature. I have tried to enjoy it, but couldn’t. The writing style doesn’t fit me.
This is my first book of Han Kang. I understand why she was chosen as the Nobel Prize this year. But, have to say her writing style is not my favorite. It was difficult to follow through, and a bit too poetic for me.
This book is a beginner to understand politics. Using animals as personas in the political world is genius and classics.
