I thought I had it figured out and was so totally wrong! Lots of little twists and turns thru the whole book.
I received an ARC from Netgalley.
Good story, but slow to pick up. Once it did, the pieces finally started fitting together. I enjoyed it.

I was excited to read this book, a new one from an author I've always enjoyed reading. But I just wasn't thrilled with it. The main character Emmy was just ok. I preferred the secondary character Jude and wished for more of her. The story bogged down in spots. Several twists kept it interesting.

I greatly enjoyed this mystery, with a father and daughter looking into the past to try to solve the mystery of the murders of her aunt and uncle. I was pulled into this and couldn't put it down. I read it in one day. I received an ARC from Netgalley.
This book seemed more like a true telling due to the current state of the world, but it was entertaining. Rooting for the good guys all the way. The best scene was the drag queen show.
A twisted mystery set on a tropical island with some interesting characters. I enjoyed this book and the descriptions of the island make me want to visit.
This story sucked me right in and I read it in one day. I really enjoyed the details about hiking the Appalachian Trail, the friendships formed and the heart it takes to make it thru. The characters were great - the missing hiker, the friend she'd been hiking with, the leader of the search and rescue team and the armchair detective. All different viewpoints who added greatly to the story.

I hadn't read a Rita Mae Brown book in a while, so was excited to receive this copy. The book kept flashing from the present to scenes from the Revolutionary War. The flash back scenes helped to provide the background for the reason for the murder and were the best part of the book. Those characters were interesting, while the current day characters and story line were rather boring. There was a lot of extra (read - not needed) details about the present day that made the story drag and I looked forward to every flashback.
All in all, a decent read, but maybe a reminder of why I stopped reading this series. I

I haven't read the first book in the series, but it didn't matter. I really enjoyed the mystery and the glimpse into the Latino culture. The characters were well written and the storyline kept you going. I'll have to go and check out the 1st book in the series now.
Cute, cozy mystery that was a quick and easy read. I would have read in 1 day, but had to get some sleep. I enjoyed the characters and look forward to the next book in the series.
I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.
the story line was ok, it was just difficult to understand some of the british terms, which made it a little hard to read.
I received a digital copy of this book for free from Netgalley to read and review.
I really wanted to like this book. The premise was great, but the characters were horrible. Adrian, teacher and main character acted like a juvenile, constantly going out with his friends despite his girlfriends requests. I don't understand why she stayed. The paranormal aspects were there, but didn't show up til late in the book and then were never fully explained.
I've read a lot of great young adult books, but this one was not good.

Oh my! I bookmarked a dozen recipes that I'm really excited to try! Lots of great info in this book. Basic canning instructions and information on the ingredients is great for beginning canners. I also loved the brief bios on the cooks behind the recipes.

Shades of Dan Brown, with lots of paranormal thrown in to boot. The book was a good read and I enjoyed the historical portions of the book. The FBI profiler character kinda got to me after a while and then she seems to get lost in the book and left out after starting out as one of the 2 main characters.
The beginning was definitely better than the end which left me a little lost.

Excellent book. I've always enjoyed Nancy Bush's books and this one did not disappoint. Good character back stories and excellent writing combined to make a great mystery.
Three Many Cooks: One Mom, Two Daughters: Their Shared Stories of Food, Faith & Family

I am only vaguely familiar with the food blog “Three Many Cooks”. That is, I'm sure I've looked at, saved or even tried one of their recipes. This is mostly because, I tend to not read food blogs as much as I use them for their recipes. That being said, I guess I was not interested in enough in the background of the bloggers as I thought I might be and I did not finish this book. There are a food good recipes scattered between the stories and I did end up saving one of them. I'll keep checking out their recipes, but this book was not for me.

First off, I did not finish this book. I had really looked forward to reading this book based on the brief description, but I got about halfway thru the book and stopped reading. After about a week, I picked it back up and tried to finish it. I quickly realized why I stopped reading and quit again.
The main character was very prickly and her answer to everything seemed to be to get in her car and take off. The characters were never fully developed and I reached the point where I didn't care what happened to them. There were never any explanations about what was happening or why.

This was a great read! It was nice to have a main female character that had a backbone and wasn't afraid to back down from a fight.

This was my first time reading one a book in this series or by Gretchen Archer. The story line seemed to take forever to develop and was bogged down by so much extra information - about the casino operations, character relationships etc. I almost put it down and didn't finish. Everything finally came together in the last quarter of the book with a fairly good finish.

The 2nd book in the series did not disappoint. I couldn't put this one down either! Another great read!

This was a ‘just ok' cozy mystery. It did get better at the end when all of the action got started. But for the most party it was very dry, with lots of descriptions of what the main character had to do every day and then the details of those events.

It's amazing the public front people put on and the facts that come out after a trial or confession. This Bad Nurse was a master manipulator. Almost made me want to go look up her blog to see if it was still online.
Great read. Glad justice was served
