I was excited to read this book, a new one from an author I've always enjoyed reading. But I just wasn't thrilled with it. The main character Emmy was just ok. I preferred the secondary character Jude and wished for more of her. The story bogged down in spots. Several twists kept it interesting.

Not my normal type of story, for some reason I was expecting more of a msytery. I did enjoy the characters and the small town type atmosphere. If you're looking for an easy to read, vaction type book, this is it.

When I requested this book, the premise was interesting. When I started reading it, I just really wanted this book to end. There was so much tedius dialogue that I skipped over. The endless pages of the fingerprinting details were also skipped over. We knew who the killer was almost at the beginning and since there was no twist, nothing to surprise you, it stopped being interesting. The dialogue between the main character and the killer was boring. I kept reading thinking maybe there would that twist, but in the end, I was just happy the book was done.

I greatly enjoyed this mystery, with a father and daughter looking into the past to try to solve the mystery of the murders of her aunt and uncle. I was pulled into this and couldn't put it down. I read it in one day. I received an ARC from Netgalley.

This is the 4th book in the series and I think they just keep getting better. A great historical mystery with a bit of time travel leaving the main character, a modern police detective, stranded back in time in the body of a victorian woman. The adjustments she has to make to victorian sleuthing with her new group of friends and collegues are interesting. I've enjoyed all the books in the series and hope there will be more.

Closer Than You Know
Easy to read msytery with a lot going on. This 2nd book in the series contiues build on the history of the sisters but with that storyline and the main mystery it was a lot to keep straight. You can definitely read this as a standalone if you want.

This book seemed more like a true telling due to the current state of the world, but it was entertaining. Rooting for the good guys all the way. The best scene was the drag queen show.

A twisted mystery set on a tropical island with some interesting characters. I enjoyed this book and the descriptions of the island make me want to visit.

This story sucked me right in and I read it in one day. I really enjoyed the details about hiking the Appalachian Trail, the friendships formed and the heart it takes to make it thru. The characters were great - the missing hiker, the friend she'd been hiking with, the leader of the search and rescue team and the armchair detective. All different viewpoints who added greatly to the story.

An entertaining horror novel that read well, although it bogged down in the middle part, before finishing up pretty well.
