Definitely John Greens best work yet and in many ways feels the most real and personal. For me it was the most moving and real. I think it is impressive a middle aged man is ever able to capture what it means to be young and facing life and feeling your descisions close off paths for your life and surviving all different sorts of hardship. I think as a young person I will be thinking about the idea that life is just “going on” and I appreciate the voice of an adult who can speak to what happens when you just keep going on until you have lived your life.

I really love Harari's writing, either he captures the truth of important topics perfectly or he perfectly captures my world view and is able to expand and change my mind very effectively. I think it should be recommended reading for anybody in a position of power if not everybody.

Amazing series. Why isn't it more popular. It was lovely being back and further exploring the world. Also I fell in love with all of the new characters, unsurprisingly

An interesting companion to Alison Bechdel's Fun Home. It has the same deeply emotional and intellectual voice as Fun Home. However, the tone is very different. For one it focuses more on her more recent adult life including the writing of Fun Home and Are You My Mother so it is much more meta and comes to a less solid ending as her relationship with her mother is not over. Just like fun home Are You My Mother is filled with literary allusions however unlike fun home the main thrust of the book in understanding her book through the writings of psychoanalysts so it has a very different kind of understanding of relationships. It worked a little bit of an introduction to these topics and an interesting more personally perspective of them. I might recommend it as to someone newly interested in psychoanalysis. I think overall It is an amazing intricate book however I understand why it is less popular than fun home. It is less focused, and more circular but that just seems to be the nature of the true story. I still highly recommend it to anybody who enjoyed fun home or just a good book about family relationships

If you are interested in Alice Austen, women around the turn of the century, photography or LGBT history I highly recommend this book. While the writing is mediocre and it only covers the life of one woman it is a deep and interesting look at all of those topics. Alice Austen was truly a fastinating person, I hope more people learn about her.
