He gazed at Xie Lian. ‘‘If your dream is to save the common people, then my dream, is only you.'‘Relying on his memory, Xie Lian asked with a trembling voice, ‘‘But...you wont...be able to rest in peace...like this...?'‘Hua Cheng answered, ‘‘I pray to never rest in peace.''
I can't believe I finally finished this beast of a novel. There were some things that could've been a little bit more explored, as well as some that, in my opinion, could've been written a little bit less about. Nevertheless, I enjoyed the story very much, and there is not a character that I can say I hate. Everyone served (and slayed) their own purpose. An emotional read, sure, but a fun one as well.
all those deaths? yeah that was me, fonda lee kept on killing me every three chapters
I don't have the words to explain how much I enjoyed this book. It was interesting, original, fun, and easy to read. I felt sooooo refreshed after reading it. I thoroughly enjoyed and absorbed every detail of it. I must say that it definitely is one of my favorites now. It's absolutely fantastic.
He shook his head. I don't know what threw me more: that Alan had no idea who Mick Jagger and crew were, or that someone as talented and famous as Brian Jones would so carelessly throw it all away when so many guys in Nam were spending each day desperately trying to stay alive.
Liked the bits of humour that were thrown in the story to dilute the overall sad situation everyone was going through at some point; glad I picked it up, honestly.
I'm a graphic novel virgin, so I am glad this was my first one.
The story follows Freddie and her (toxic) relationship with Laura Dean. LD keeps cheating and breaking up with her, then magically comes back to her like nothing happened. Throughout the story Freddie learns how to let LD finally go and grow as a person and a friend.
I will actually rate this novel 4.7 stars rather than 5 full stars because I wanted to see more of Freddie's and LD's breakup, the scene was rather short for me. Overall, it was a really enjoyable and light read + the drawings are amazing!! Also LESBIANS!!!! We love to see it.
A nice, short read. Love how the motives of Norse mythology are intertwined with the story. I wanted to see the truth, the real reason why Stig ran away from home, though. I get that the author wanted an open ending, but to me that pat is kinda unfinished.
Although I admit I couldn't get into it cause of the writing at first, I'm glad I pushed through and read this pretty spooky, yet emotional book. The level of emotions towards the end got me, not gonna lie.
Iz nekog nepoznatog razloga imala sam potpuno drugačiju predstavu o radnji ovog romana, tek posle čitanja shvatam koliko sam pogrešno mislila.
it's the character analysis of the secret history and the mystery of agatha christie's novels combined
I was a little underwhelmed, to be honest. I didn't expect the outcome of the plot; I thought the book was a thriller.
Still, I liked the way the whole book played out, I guess. The only thing I didn't like though, was the beginning. It was too slow-paced for me.
Rather 2.5 stars than 2.
Couldn't really get into any of the characters. I could not understand half of the stuff that was going on; to be very honest, did not enjoy it entirely.
It's not as WOW as I thought it would be. The plot twist + the end result were both predictable - I expected a lot more suspects and their interrogation, and was a bit disappointed, to be honest. However, I liked the au and the relationship the two sisters have, even though it's damaged.
although the overall feeling of the book is different from the first two, the entertainment value is still the same; last third of the book was like a never ending fever dream + the last chapter served a great prop for the next book
also 5/5 for lord john gray serving that celebrity cameo appearance realness
I'm kinda disappointed tbh,, it wasn't as interesting as I hoped it would be. The characters were very 2d to me and I couldn't connect to any of them. An interesting idea but not very well executed.
I will live in thy heart, die in thy lap, and be buried in thy eyes and also I will go with thee to thy Uncle. MAN...
