I'm so in love with every character in this book and everything that happened in it. I'll never shut up about this one. Definitely one of my new favorites.
To be very honest, I thought this books will be very cliche and just,,,, super cringe.
I was pleasantly surprised. I enjoyed it quite a bit. Perfect for a summer read.
can't believe my slavic ass was happier about the fact that the author mentioned kavinsky in half a sentence when hennessy n ronan literally did what they did
This book made me want to retake the course in Shakespeare i took in my third year of uni; also “Be gay, do crime” is a great plot motive
I thought some sensitive issues were gonna be glossed over so I was prepared to give a lower rating, but there's no way a book with 800+ pages wouldn't come full circle. The good, the bad, I enjoyed every page of it.
not me thinking this would be the end of the series only to suffer a massive cliffhanger.....man
Loved how the series ended. I literally don't have anything to add, loved the characters, loved the ending, loved the plot twists THE PLOT TWISTS !!!! And most of all, the interactions between the characters are so well written, they really are the cherry on top. Thoroughly enjoyed it and loved it.
i was obsessed with this manga when i was 13 and, apparently, at 19 i still am,,,,, it's just so good
BRUH that was one cool book. Idk what to say except I'd DIE for Jesper and Wylan.
Can't wait to see how the second book will play out!!
i feel so privileged that i had the chance to read this but at the same time i wish i never opened this ever
the setting and atmosphere were such a vibe and the allegories were beautiful but it was so anticlimactic and the plot twist was anything but; i tried so hard to get the hype but it was so difficult to get into it
I ATE UP the first half and then stopped in the middle cause I couldn't care less abt some characters (I'm so sorry Kosika), then the second half picked up gradually and the ending left me mad as hell. Love that the current situations and problems are resolved and at the same time are opening up new possibilities, leaving more to be resolved in the next book(s).
Also, I can't finish a review without mentioning Lila at least once. She ate every character up and left them gagged. I want her soooo baaaddddd
this had no business being this fun
also a bummer there was no werewolf named jacob that would've been sick
It's the half assed horse drawing all over again.
I tried very hard to like this book enough to say that the characters are well developed, but there was barely any development whatsoever. It started off pretty well, gave the vibes of The Secret History with all of the character analysis - it was enjoyable, even if there was a slow progress with the plot. Yet, all that came out with all of that psychoanalysis was literal character assassination. There was no feel that they had any growth; it's one thing to write it and read it, the other thing to feel it. All that explaining was for nothing - they turned out like cardboard anyway.
I get that it's tough fleshing all six plus characters, but if you're already developing them equally, don't reduce them to names on paper.
