The perfect sequel!
Everything about this book was amazing. The characters, the vibes, the plot – it drew me in, and I was invested. I enjoyed the multi-pov. Watching the relationship between the Nightmare and the other characters grow was also exciting (the banter and camaraderie made me smile). The ending also had me shedding a tear or two. The only thing I wish we got was a proper Ravyn/Elspeth reunion.
This was a beautifully written story – I'm so sad I finished it! I would definitely re-read this series again. It would also make an amazing show/movie. :')

This was beautiful. I have no words to describe how much I enjoyed this book. I am now a fan of Elif Shafak's writing. The main reason I was drawn to this book was because of the pretty cover, but my oh my, the story was wonderful. I discovered a gem that I would absolutely re-read.
A great read – I couldn't put this book down!
Trees, this book was excellent for someone who has not read much of Fantasy! The writing and pacing was good. I was intrigued by the magical elements. I enjoyed the light humour sprinkled in here and there. There wasn't as much romance as I anticipated, but that's okay (more of a slow-burn/romance as the sub-plot) as it played out better this way. Nonetheless, it was an enjoyable read. I can't wait to start the sequel!
5 ⭐️ // Sad. Hopeful. Relatable. Beautiful. I loved this story. Definitely made me feel things. Now I can't wait to learn more about Arctic Terns - they are amazing and resilient creatures.
3.5 // I think my expectations were too high for this book. I liked it, but also disliked it at the same time?
3.25 ⭐ // This book was a mixed bag and fell slightly short of my expectations. When reading the book starts to feel like a chore, I know it's probably not going to hit the spot for me.
3.5 ⭐ // At first, I couldn't put this book down. Two weeks later, I struggled to pick it back up. As much as I like spice, I think there was too much of it in this book – the plot was totally forgotten. The book did make me laugh at some points though, so yay?
