Writing was clunky, but the stories were compelling. 

very short and very predictable. going to forget this one pretty quickly.

Dragged in the middle, but the ending charmed me. Feels like it could have been way shorter.

Really liked the last third of the book, but the first two thirds dragged enough that I almost DNF'd.

Just got bored, too much about the narrator's mother

Audiobook narrator was so gravelly and breathy, very distracting

Couldn't get past the set up to the actual mystery. Took too long to get going.

Didn't find myself caring where this story was going; felt very low stakes. 

Seemed like it was going to be a pretty straight forward procedural that didn't seem compelling. Tried reading a few times and just couldn't get into it.
