The premise was a 5. The execution was a 1.

Last act is exactly the same as the first two books: “And then everything was craaaaaaazy!”
Author is almost impressively bad at communicating what's in his head onto the page in action sequences.
People use contractions. Author should try one out in his dialogue.
Book started out with a pretty good mystery for the reader. Unfortunately, the author answers the mystery before page 50.

DNF'd when I couldn't handle the awful, unnatural dialog anymore. It's seriously some of the worst I've ever read. The author has seemingly never had a conversation with an actual real live person.

I think there's a good story here. I just wish someone else had written it.

Everything is so padded that you can pretty much skip every other paragraph and miss nothing. The narrator is inconsistent. Incorrect grammar crops up. The random, improper uses of passive voice are jarring. Oh, and if I have to read, “the yellow one” one more time...

Certainly not boring, but could use a little more subtlety. If you're paying much attention, you'll probably have the killer pegged by the first murder.

I'm sure something happened in the last act.

The first half was interesting to me. The second half I couldn't skim fast enough.

+1 star for the story being better than expected. -1 for the writing not being great. -1 for the narrator.
