This book is kind of like Hayao Miyazaki's movies. When the world is gonna end and nobody can't stop it. But in the last moments something unusual happens and saves everything. I generally don't like this kind of endings. But in this case it wasn't that bad. Mostly because the author tried to answer all of the questions and left nothing unexplained. However I sometimes felt he is over explaining things. Saying things over and over again like every time he mentioned Rashek he had to explain who was Rashek.
The thing I liked the most about this trilogy was its multiple POVs.
I didn't count but I think this book had at least a dozen POV's. It was nice to see things from a koloss point of view :D

Second Reading:
The final book in this amazing trilogy. I have to say it is perfect. The gradual revelation of information not only saves this book but also make it perfect. Most of the time in series like this the author makes the mistake of revealing all the secrets at the end of the last book. I admit that almost all the critical info was saved for the last book but Sanderson reveals them throughout the book.
The amazing thing is I don't like vin and I don't know why. I also don't like Elend just because he is too perfect. The only character I really liked was kelsier and we all know what happened to him.
Finally finished this book. Unfortunately I didn't understand much about it. The writing was hard for me to follow. Apparently the book is full of symbolism and everything represents something. I'm not that smart to figure these things out though.
There are some books that I totally love them when I read them but after a week or two after finishing them I think to myself that they weren't that good. This book is one of them. It has been two years since I first read this book. Now after reading it for the second time I realize how wrong I was. This book is awesome. It has everything. It may not be better than the other two books in trilogy but still it is very good. You get everything from it. Action, twist, mystery, love, etc. I particularity like the transition of Elend to king in the hand of tindail. It was so didactic. And if I have to mention one thing that I didn't like about the book is this: Elend Venture is too good to true. I mean even when he makes mistakes it is to show how good and noble he is. I found this bothering since I don't like perfect characters.
Now I have to compliment the good job of graphic audio. I personally love what they do. Especially that they try to make one for every Brandon Sanderson's books. I totally prefer listening to a graphic audio version than suffer watching a ruined version of the book that has turned to a movie. I hope they start working on Stormlight Archive as soon as possible. I can't wait for graphic audio version of those books. I know they will be perfect.
The charming story of a young girl whom has been bewitched by a notorious witch to become old. She has to live with the notorious wizard Howl and his speaking fire. Rumor has it that Howl eats young girls hearts.
It is very different from the Movie. I think the characters in the movie were more likable. Especially Howl and Calcifer.
Nevertheless the book is pretty solid. I can say that it is a quick read and it won't bore you even for a minute.
Second read through. I didn't zoom through it this time (except the last 150 pages, you can't really help it with Sanderson books). Listened to graphic audio version simulatenously which was really good. The beginning and the end are very good. However the middle part is slow and could be much shorter. For the magic to make sense you have to completely ignore the real world physics of light and colors, because of that I am not the biggest fan of this magic system. The humor was a little bit corny and I am not a big fan of the romance in general.
Overall a solid and fun read.
Again book 4 is extremely intense.
book 3 was stretching a bit. I honesly did not care about most of the army characters.
The rest was amainzg.
It's better to know what you are doing when playing poker. Especially the part about the pot odds was very interesting.
If you are not a fan of young adult books and vampire stuff you wont like this book. It is practically about a bunch of teenage girls in school and their relationship with their boyfriends.
I think it was totally possible to write a good story without abusing the past. Although I would love it if they wait for 10 or 15 years and then make a movie out of this book with the original cast. That would be awesome.
Creatures from mythical stories are hunting three village boys. With the help of notorious withes and their warriors they have to run from minions of the dark lord.
This series is famous for imitating the Lord of the Rings. I think the general idea of the WOT is identical to LOTRS. Some young innocent boys are forced to save the world. The best warriors and magicians are there to help. The evil dark lord is getting stronger everyday and the grave responsibility of saving the world falls on the shoulder of our young and inexperienced heroes. They have to travel across the world and overcome dire obstacles.
This book is very slow paced. Often you have to refer to the glossary to understand what is going on because there is a lot of characters and places haven't been explained before. This could be a tiresome work for many readers. Also in most parts of the book nothing important or interesting happens and I found myself drifting off. Of course there are some intense parts but they are very few. The conclusion is very brief and vague.
I really want to read the books that Brandon Sanderson has written otherwise I would not read the rest of the series. Since this book took a lot of effort for me to read I am not going to read the next books right away. Maybe one or two book a year.
The story of a boy who is wrong in all the right ways. Who is weird in the wonderful ways.
This book was different from all of the other books I have read. Some parts of it were so real that disturbed me and the fact that real stories disturbs me, also disturbs me. I guess I have to stick to my fantasy books and stay away from these kind of books. After all I read books to get away from the real world.
About the movie
I watched the movie 2 years ago and I loved it. After reading this I watched the movie again and I didn't like it. You must realize that the movie is directed, produced and written by Stephen Chbosky. So it is as faithful as it gets. But even in this case you have to make lots of compromises to make a movie of a book and these compromise often lead to resentment of the book's fan. My biggest problem with the movie is lack of using the “Landslide” song despite multiple mentions of it in the book. After all it is one of my favorite songs ever. The best thing about the movie is Ezra Miller's performance.
This book could actually be an Indiana Jones movie. Lots of adventure. Treasure hunt in mountains and caves. Booby traps etc. I can say that this book was the most different book in the series with all the adventures and technology. Personally I like the classic epic fantasy more. I love the epic battles, sword fights, sieges, politics etc. But Era #2 of mistborn explores a new genre when technology meets magic. With all the guns, trains and air ships. I have to say that Brandon does an excellent job with this book. Even me that doesn't like these genre enjoyed this book very much. Of course Era#2 is not nearly as good as Era#1 in my opinion but to be fair they are two completely different things and it is not right to compare these two to each other even though they are both misborn books. [not complete]
What is the best book I'v ever read? Well there is this very close competition between Words of Radiance & Storm of Swords. Both of these books are perfect. Although I think Storm of Swords is a more sophisticated book but Words of Radiance is the most intense book I've ever read. I hope next books in these series break this damn tie.
A simple love story. I didn't find anything special about it. Not what was I expecting. It is very likely that I have missed things. I saw some hints of symbolism but didn't understand them fully to appreciate them. I look into it though...
It seems like this book was written for graphic audio. As always the pacing was fast and on point and in the end there are some hints of greater mysteries to come.
