Thank you Nancy! For the loan and the patience! I've been reading this book for over a year. I've been patiently waiting for moments where I could thoroughly escape because let me tell you... Mary Brown is genius! She writes not just words and sentences and scenarios. She writes full pictures, she's environmental and comical and thoroughly character driven. She gives personality and empathy and growth and consciousness to her characters. I do not say this because it's not something I do but I will read this again, prob more than twice.
How do you maintain your love when the universe is out to destroy you? That's a question for Sydney, the star-child, and future victim of the Torrian race. Prince William is the chosen Torrian sent on this murderous mission. Brought up to hunt and deflect all feeling, determined to bring honor back to his family, it's not until he is in close proximity to the star-child that his barriers come crumbling down.
Full of action and intensity Protostar is an exciting scifi romance. I enjoyed its lightheartedness as well as the constant action and would def recommend to all YA lovers.
This I can already tell is going to be a series I can sink my teeth into. Who doesn't love the love triangle trope. Boy loves a boy who loves a girl who loves a boy, and with a twist! There's a girl in love with the girl. Teens... squishy love. Anyways. This was a real pleasure to read, not only are the characters sincere, and over the top in the expressions, of course, who wouldn't read manga for this, but the storyline - guys c'mon - it's everything.
There's this boy, who has a secret crush on this girl, who decides to help his crush get her crush. I'm probably confusing you but stick with it, it really is great.
My only hangup was the girl crush was supremely over apologetic, and sometimes to the point of annoyance but really when it came down to it, this wasn't even enough to drop a star.
There's nothing like a sibling rivalry to bring a family together. At least you'd think so when it comes to the Castles. While at sister Georgie's wedding an eavesdropping producer hears Bethany and brother Stephen going at it. Bethany ever afraid of not being enough for anyone has decided she wants to prove her stuff to brother Stephen by doing her own renovation. What befalls is a charming romance when Wes; a rodeo cowboy from Texas, Zellweger's his way into Bethany's project and ultimately her heart. Tessa Bailey's Tools of Engagement is the hot caramel sauce on the top of this Hot and Hammered contemporary romance sundae.
Thank you to NetGalley for providing me with this ARC in exchange for an honest review.
This is a gorgeous Tarot book. It gives you input and descriptions and guidance on interpreting every card in the deck. My only issue was that it did not come with a deck?! The artwork on the cards in the book as they are fully illustrated are absolutely gorgeous. I can't fathom why this isn't a set. That being said I have no regrets using this book to review and learn and for deeper guidance on the cards that I do have.
Thank you NetGalley for the ARC of Tarot, this is my honest review.
The Remaking was an absolute creep-fest! Wholly atmospheric with a writing style that propels you through the pages. The story of Ella Louise and Jessica Ford is eternal, told by word of mouth, through film, and then a podcast - but it was the story of Amber Pendelton haunted by the formidable Ford's that meshed most with me. A child tormented that becomes a woman tortured. Amber's past remains her present, unravels her future, and like all lives touched by the Ford's it's not until their bitter end that they are finally released.
Thank you to @NetGalley and @ClayMcLeod for my copy of The Remaking. This is my honest review.
Anne McOmber is special, she has lived life in a way that few of us have. It didn't always start that way, but hindsight for her is a gift worth treasuring. Following her story which in itself is an invitation, you steadily progress through seven stories of struggle, initially from the day to day and progressively into harder challenges. She shares with us her grace and invites us to live in today, mindfully, aware of the gifts life gives us. I highly recommend her book, and will gladly be looking for more of her books.
