This book is a total mind f*ck! It's so unbelievably intense and original and amazing...you just don't understand.. OMG I love you Blake Crouch! Can NOT WAIT to see what you are doing next!!!
3.5 Fast paced easy read. Enjoyable if not a little predictable. Will definitely revisit this author again.
I have some personal reflections to make after reading this that I am unsure I should post here.. review to come
...
I saw it coming...but I read on regardless unheading the warnings...unbelieving.
By the gods...the feels.
This book is so cute and so full of wonderment and information, that as a parent I want to share it with my children, and as someone's child wished my mom would give me advice just like this 20 or so years ago. This book has something in it for everyone, and everyone should take a gander at what it has to offer.
Struggled through this, book was a little dry, straight forward writing, just couldn't hold my interest. The end (last 100 pages or so) made the book worthy of a 4 star rating. Those pages I thoroughly enjoyed!
It took a long time to find this but so worth it. This brought me right back to the London Below, the Marquis is whip-smart and this fun little tale about how he loses his coat and gets it back is glorious. There are so many new characters involved in this little tale, it just makes me so excited for book 2....
This was a cute little romance. My first in the Bluebonnet series and prob not my last.
This book was kinda like unfolding a paper crane, frustrating at points, continuously changing and unpredictable, and in the end a complete metamorphosis. I really enjoyed this story, it was original, unexpected, and the ending oh my does it surprise!
Enjoyed this fresh take on witchcraft. Would definitely recommend it to anyone who enjoyed Deborah Harkness's All Souls Trilogy or even Karen Marie Monings Fever Series, as I am most definitely a fan of both. Looking forward to seeing what's next.
Loved this book. Brought me back to my childhood at the Jersey Shore while being thought provoking enough in subject matter to keep my feet on the ground. May not have appreciated the stunted ending but not enough to drop a single star.
Better than the last which is rare, less predictable, enjoyed the pantomime and the story of the clever children. Looking forward to Blood Card.
I love sci-fi based in reality.
I love the premise of this story, and would be thrilled to read an updated variation. That being said this story was very much a product of its time. Written in 1971, the science, characteristics and atmosphere of that time are very prevalent. It was also a very propelling read, the further the story got, the more urgent the writing. It was exciting, toward the end difficult to put down.
Not what I was hoping for. I really wanted to love this - and some of you out there will. I was really hopeful this would be more edge of your seat - grab you at the first sentence and not let you go - something more akin to “Dark Matter”. But for me it didn't deliver. I definitely asked too much of this one - if you enjoy a solid story - and a narrative that propels you through time - with the urgency of saving ones family, than you will prob love this book. Just don't do what I did and expect more than it offers.
I read this for a book club, it was not something I would have normally picked up, but it was the most perfect read. Can't wait to discuss.
This book was really entertaining would recommend to anyone looking for a good laugh!
Curse you Alice Oseman for doing this to my heart.
Bless you Alice Oseman for creating a couple as sweet as Nick and Charlie.
