A great story with likeable characters. I didn't realise this was the first book and that there are at least another two to go. Can't wait to read those if I can find them at my library!
I thought this was a great read! I actually had a couple of real tears at the end. I thought the bit that the stepson of CS Lewis wrote at the end was really interesting! I would like to read more of her books!
It took me awhile to get into this story. It jumped back and forward in time which I'm not a fan of, but it needed to so you could get to know the back story of Ove. It got better as I got further through it and got to know the characters.
What an interesting concept. Getting to experience the lives you could have had if you had chosen things differently! I was very relieved that Nora didn't die and that she sorted her friendship with her brother in the end.
I really enjoyed the story it had me guessing as to who did it for a bit. The characters were likeable. I'm not sure if I'll read the next book or not as there was more swearing than I would have liked.
It wasn't what I was expecting- was hoping for more animal stories but reading about Laurie's life and all her mother and her and her siblings endured before and after getting away from her fathe. Showing you how she came to run the Funny Farm which started off as her mother's dream. There were photos near the end so you could see pictures of the animals she told stories about.
Another great story. The characters were all really likeable. Had mystery and humour. I really like all the Andy Carpenter stories.
Another amazing story but now I have to wait for the final book to hopefully give closure to the story of Pa Salt! Great that the ‘Missing Sister' was living in NZ! I could picture the area they lived in although I haven't been to the exact area before as we went on holiday down the South Island last year.
Amazing reading about these dogs nobody wanted being turned into search and rescue dogs!
I enjoyed this book more than the last book they wrote. It was good from start to finish. I little bit wordsy at the start but got easier to read quickly. Will be interested to know if they are going to write any further books together.
This was my first book by this author and it was so good! Going to read more of her books. I laughed and I had a lump in my throat- it had all the emotions!
Not my normal genre but I enjoyed it! A lot of the science stuff went over my head but the story was great. It was good that you kearn how Ryland ends up on the Hail Mary. So you read the earth story and then it goes to the Hail Mary story and then back and forth. Happy ending was the main thing!
I don't normally read fantasy but I really enjoyed this story and liked all the characters! I want to know what happens so will definitely read the other two! I liked how it was in the real world and in the fantasy world as well.
Another great read which still leaves it open for another book, hopefully! Wasn't what I was expecting but still kept me interested to see what would happen next.
Another great story in the Fox and O'Hare series! Hopefully there will be another one!
Not a fan of the jumping back and forth in time. Good story. Didn't enjoy it as much as The Alice Network. Pleased that it all worked out for Beth in the end.
Wow - I felt like I was there! The dust storms, drought and flash flood! I was sad that Elsa never really found the new life she was looking for before she died!
Another great story for the second book in the series - looking forward to the next book in the series. Great cast of characters who are all very likeable!
I read this as it filled a prompt for a reading challenge I'm doing. I wish they had of finished the reality show and then maybe had a bit at the end 3 months on with how everyone was doing.
I saw the second book in the series at the library and it sounded really good so thought I'd better read the first book to see if it was any good. Really enjoyed it and the characters were all likeable, except Harrington. I like stories with working dogs. I'll definitely get the next book out at some stage.
I enjoyed this story. I wasn't sure if it would be ok to read as it's 12th in a series but I found it ok. I would like to read more of his books as this was a murder mystery with humour and sadness thrown in.
It normally annoys me when books go back and forward in time - but it does make sense and work in this book.
