It's so sad the life Naomi had to lead hidden away from the world when she was young. Finally when the truth comes out and she finds out she's been lied to for all those years! I was hoping Ben would catch up to her at the protest!
Was so great that the characters that were in the last book I read by her were also in this book. The main character annoyed me a little bit with how she was with Tom initially when he was in Italy. Always trust your dog!
Kind of like the bachelor for teenagers except he didn't pick the winner by the end of this book, lol. Now I really want to read the rest of the books to find out what happens.
I think I preferred the first book more. This book took me awhile to get into for some reason.
I can't believe how young the author was when he wrote this story. I'm looking forward to reading the rest of the books in the series!
Wow! What a life she has had - such an eye opener!
She went through so much growing up!
A true inspiration!
I read this for part of a challenge as I don't normally read fantasy books. As it is part of Whitcoulls top 100 books I thought I'd give it a go. You did have to concentrate on what year you were in as initially it did jump back and forward.
I have never read Doctor Zhivago, but now I'm really curious about it and think I'm going to have to! I read the book in the two parts as I'm not a fan of books that jump back and forward. I read ‘The East' from start to finish and then went back and read ‘The West' which worked for me. I didn't have to worry about which characters were which in which timeline and it all flowed well.
Glad I got this out of the library rather than buying it. Don't think it's a book I would read again.
I found this a real struggle to read initially - it did start with a real hiss and a roar but then in my opinion it slowed down! I had to put it down and try again after reading a few different books. It did get easier to read and the story was interesting. It has do many good reviews so I knew I had to finish it.
I think the blurb for this was better than the actual story. I read it for a prompt in a challenge I'm doing.
I read this for an inspirational story prompt as it came up under a Google search. I found it more sad than anything else. He doesn't even finish his walk in this story. Not sure if I'll carry on and read the next books if not.
One of the first things I thought when I saw Tanzie's full name was Costanza was is the author Seinfeld fan. I really enjoyed this book and it had all the emotions. I laughed and a had a lump in my throat at times. It was a little predictable but still very enjoyable.
A nice easy read. It didn't matter that I hadn't read any other books in the Cedar Cove series. There was a couple of pages at the front with a list of some of the characters and a bit about them. A great little Christmas story with dogs involved - what could be better.
I initially read this as it has one of my favourite colours in the title but then I discovered it was about grief as well so will use it for that prompt. Didn't realise there was a sequel so think I'll read it to find out what happens next. Was an easy read.
Would have given it 3.5 if I could but worth more than a 3 star. It was predictable but I enjoyed the story although at times wanting to bang Sam and Percy's heads together! It had a happy ending so that was good!
I would have given it 3 and a half stars if I could but not woth 4 stars for me. Predictable story but wouldn't mind reading the other books in the series at some stage.
I was a bit gutted with the ending with Day and June but have just discovered there is a new book coming out. I am glad that Day finally had an operation that worked. Hopefully Day and June get back on track in the next book.
I read this as part of a challenge as I had never read it before. I think if I was younger reading the characters accents would have annoyed me so I'm glad I waited to read it. I enjoyed it but wish Colin and his dad had more time together before the book finished.
America drove me a little nuts when she carried on seeing Aspen when she saw what happened to Marlee. I am glad she saw sense at the end and stayed to fight for the prince. I am going to have to read the rest of the series to see what happens though!
I liked how Peter, Susan, Edmond and Lucy were in this story again. Having the hunger Caspian had for information about old Narnia it was great to see that he took his rightful place.
