Although this book jumped back and forward in time I did enjoy it as it did have a lot to do with the story. I did not pick the ending which was great. So much better when you don't predict how the book is going to end.
I read this for the time travel prompt for the goodreads popsugar challenge and thought it was good. To have the opportunity to go back in time and meet Jane Austen and try and work out what she died of and try to fix it is pretty amazing. To actually have it work and having her write an additional 17 books and live so much longer is amazing.
It took me awhile to read this even though it was a short book - it wasn't a real page turner for me unfortunately. I don't think I'll be running out to see the movie when it comes out.
I read this as it was on a library stand and recommended by two different librarians. It was a cute story and the characters were likeable although Lucille was a little on the nose sometimes!
An interesting story. Annoying that we had to wait until the end to find out why she wanted Monique to do the story!
An interesting story with lots of interesting characters. The story just kind of ended and didn't tie up all the ends I thought it would.
I took awhile to get into this story. I picked it up and then put it down but when I picked it up again I persevered and got into it. It was great learning about each of the different characters. I preferred the current time line but understand why we had to read about the past. Reading the back of the book I was expecting more to happen between Nina and The Huntress!
Just as good as the first one which isn't always the way with a second book. It was totally different from the first book which was unexpected. Will be interesting to see what happens in the next book!
There were twists and turns that I didn't see coming. The woman drove me a little nuts at times.
I had figured out who she had fallen for but wasn't sure how it was going to play out. I'm pleased she followed her heart. It was a quick and easy read and I had been looking forward to finding out the conclusion as I had read the other book around lockdown.
I liked reading about the happy whale watching and dolphin watching. Not about the baby whale stranding :( I'm pleased that they found out Letty was still alive - even if it wasn't until the end!
This book had it all - it played out just like a movie. I could actually imagine watching it at the movies. Nick and Kate finally got together like we all knew they would. I can't wait to read the next installment! Although I see it has one different author so I hope that doesn't change the dynamics.
Quite slow and guessed someone would have been feeding her initially even if it wasn't much. I'm glad she didn't die in the end though.
I have never actually read all the books in the series so am doing it now. It will also help my reading challenge as will get through the books quite fast as I'm a bit behind at the moment! It was so great to learn where the lamp post and wardrobe came from! So glad I read this book first and not The Lion, the witch and the wardrobe.

I had real tears (more than once!) not just a lump in my throat! I had heard it would make you cry - but wow!
I really enjoyed this book and the twists along the way. The main character was a likeable guy and it was good to get the background of how he came to be Orphan X. Looking forward to reading the next two books.
I really like the relationships between all the characters. This had some laugh out loud moments! I did not see the end of this book coming so I'll have to get the next book as soon as I can to find out what happens. I do already have four other books out of the library but may have to get that book and make it jump the queue!
I enjoyed how there were two stories running side by side. Jack and Jill and then the school child killer as well. I thought it had a decent ending with both stories. I was just waiting for Gary Sonegi to turn up somewhere so that phone call wasn't surprising.
Another great read, my heart was in my mouth for a minute or two when Nana Mama was sick and Sampson got shot, fortunately it all ended well, including Sampson finding love!
Started out a bit slow. Only read it for a challenge I'm doing. Had me guessing how it would end.
It was a good read but for some reason it wasn't what I was expecting. I liked the characters. I thought maybe the story could have been a bit shorter.
I think I would have preferred to read this in order of what happened. It was an eye opener of what life would be like for a child growing up close to a war zone. Would have liked to know if she found Marina. The book kind of just ended abruptly in my opinion.
This book had me hooked from start to finish! I just had to keep reading to find out what was going to happen next in the kidnapping saga. I intend to read more books in the Alex Cross series.
