A bit too “insider baseball” for me as I'm not familiar with all the Ireland player names. But enjoyed the coverage of the topic and solid overall point on corruption bringing down yet another boom.
Would have preferred a slightly shorter version of this book, but did enjoy it overall. Lots of good political backroom scenes. Hard to imagine the days pre-ACA, and hopefully we will never see them again. Ready for single-payer!
Abstract simple inaccurate.
Literal complex accurate.
Classic design tradeoff. Be it subway maps or software user interface
I like Vignelli's 3 map idea. They all have a place and purpose.
started a bit slow, but picks up steam, and the way all the story lines are connected at the end is great
Great read. page turner. in the business thriller style of Bad Blood and Barbarians at the Gate.
forever thankful for all involved in making these vaccines a reality
Very interesting tick-tock. Had no idea this one phone call was basically the flip of Dem to Repub for much of the South.
Excellent takedown of a truly nonsensical approach.
The best is the explanation of originalism itself not being originalist.
Interesting but needed many more illustrations.
More brand recommendations would have also been nice.
Enjoyed it. Solid eco-thriller. Fond memories from our recent trip to Kauai.
Thanks to Talk Story Books in Hanapepe for the recommendation.
Great explanation on the subject. We should have, and actually/apparently did, see it coming.
Too bad our leadership fell apart.
Hopefully US will recreate and expand our pandemic office and reserves.
Well written, destruction of the Lost Cause in the form of author biography and reflection. Painful to read, but important. Another reminder that we have plenty more work to do.
Extreme page turner.
The way the two women meet is far fetched, but a great thriller nonetheless.
If you haven't read Gary before, you can read this one book and get the whole pitch in one place.
Another great book from Gary, life changer. Glad to see some of the science, trials, and journalism now coming around to what we have known for decades.
Mostly choir-preaching here. I suspect most people that are not exercise-aholics know intuitively that we have a natural resistance to exercise for exercise sake.
Good coverage on the evolutionary and biological aspects.
And does reinforce, of course, that although we are resistant to exercise, it does do us a lot of good. And there is no doubting the “high” you get is part of some evolutionary goal to get us to do it more.
Reads like a thriller. Until you realize it all could be actively happening on the device you are reading the book with ;-) Yikes
Zero days in connection with state intelligence agencies is a volatile situation with no easy answers. I suspect we need to end up similar to the privacy/encryption debate. Nobody gets super-keys to encrypted data, impossible to control to only the “good guys” (also my good guy might be your bad guy). Need to do same with zero days.
