Amazing, I can't believe this was written in 1989

Interesting and weird!

Wow, what ecological destruction humans wrought. Burning the forest so it was easier to walk through! Also liked how he tied a log to the back of his truck for break when he went down hills.

Loved the ending

Some interesting stories of NZ 70 odd years ago

Depressing but thought provoking.

I loved the writing in this book

Read this with my 6 year old, had to give us a few “extra lives” but we enjoyed it.

I like how the wolf talked in this book “looksmelling” and “spinwagging”
Caspar liked how the wolf and raven became friends, and how the wolf was sometimes nice to other creatures and didn't eat them.

Good book, ending was pretty strange

Good post apocalyptic fiction!

A historian stuck in a foreign country, in a hotel. in the middle of nowhere when a global nuclear war begins.

Wow, it is books like this that make your troubles seem insignificant. This is the story of an incredibly hard upbringing, and how despite that you can succeed in life.

Great story! I enjoyed reading it lying on a bean bag in the blistering sun.

Interesting fact from the book:
the Sherpas had to sleep in the snow because there was not enough room in the tents!

I loved this series, cool use of technology and some interesting social and political ideas about the future. If you liked the Mars Trilogy by Kim Stanley Robinson I think you would like this.

Some interesting concepts, I really liked the idea of the Eudaimonia Machine

Great book, good characters and interesting story. I am keen to checkout the remainder of the series.

Fantastic book. I would recommend for anyone.

This is a collection of short stories. I really like the first and last stories and there where a couple of other good ones spread through.

Some great stories

Very interesting. A shame his “world system” may have actually been impossible. Interesting takes on how to achieve world peace.
