Loved the book from start to finish. The plot had me for a little while I usually guess these things. This is def a must read.
I read books like this to gain insights from different perspectives. Jessie Daniels has overcome significant challenges and is remarkable, though I don't condone everything she experienced. The book serves as a guide for improving the world if people engage in self-reflection. I learned a great deal and discovered some fantastic book recommendations along the way. This is a must-read for everyone, not just “Nice White Ladies.”
He has done it again. All three books in this series are hard to put down. The way the characters are developed makes me want to know more and more. I will be downloading all of the rest of his books later today. This book is well worth the read. Hope there are many more in this series.
I completed this book very quickly. Cannot wait for the next one. It had twist and turns that I never thought would be upcoming.
I rarely give five stars but this book earned it.
Take My Hand is loosely based on true events. The main characters include Erica, India, and Civil just to name a few. India and Erica are two patients that end up being some of Civils first patients. She eventually finds out that they are in unfortunate circumstances. They live in filth, and the walls in their home are not up to par. They also do not even have running water or food. Civil makes it her mission to ensure these girls are well taken care of. But, like any story, there are bumps in the road. This book had it all drama, romance, education, and history. It opened my eyes to topics and injustices that I never even knew about and I love history. This is a must-read for any and everyone. I hope this review helps. I do not want to spoil it for anyone. I completed this in one day if that tells you anything. I hope you enjoy it.
possible spoiler alert
I had a free credit from audible so I was like what the hell. I have never read any of Nita's books but I will follow her from now on. The names were kind of basic but the plot and ending were awesome. The naïve main character raised by her late grandmother “Molly” was a perfectionist that happens to be a maid. She was raised by an elderly women and essentially had no common sense. That would eventually become part of her detriment. She befriended the rich guest wife and the drama began. She found him dead and quickly became a suspect. She had to find a way out of the quandary she was in. The plot unfolded and had some ups, downs, and curves in it. I love how the story unfolded and I read the entire book in a few days. I think if you haven't read this you should do so NOW.
This was my initial time reading any of Seraphina Nova Glasses books. I am glad I did. This book caught me from the start. A wife searching for love and attention. A hard working husband oblivious to the fact that she needs the love and attention she craves. She falls into the gaze of a sexy literature writer and the drama begins. Murder, sex, lies, cheating, twist and turns. This book is a must read and I ensure you that you will be hooked. I have already started the book from her titles “On a Quiet Street” can't wait to see what occurs.
Love this book. It started off a different direction than I thought it would. I love Katee Robert's books.
This is only the second time I wanted to stop a book. I finished it but goodness it was hard. I did not see the appeal of this one. That is just my take. There was not action, mystery, or suspense. The book was like a old guy telling a story to people that did not want to listen.
This book opened some wounds. I knew it would. We all need to know the history good and bad in order to proceed in this world. Hate is something I will never understand. There is room for us all. The US needs to stop hiding it and keep it 100 with the public. As a result of this book I am in a rabbit hole about this horrible moment in American History.
love the book
This made me want to continue the series. I kept guessing who the villain was and failed. I usually am spot on. Good job and a good read.
I followed this story from day 1. I am for lack of a better term a crime junkie. This guy was and is a horrible human being. This book did present some viewpoints that I had never thought of. It also went into more depth than the documentary as well as the media coverage. This is so sad the way he did this family and seems to not care at all. This book is a must-listen or read if you follow crime. It gets more into his head than the police portion. Prayers to all of the people that were harmed by this tragic event.
I think this is a must-read for everyone. We all have biases that are built into our daily lives. The only way to fix these issues is to fix the systems and institutions that are built on racist rules, laws, and procedures. But I digress I do not think in my lifetime this will occur.
This is a great book. I love how it is presented as a documentary of sorts. I also like how she once again linked her books together. Must read
Man, where do I begin. This book taught me so much about Michelle as we as her husband. She was vulnerable, honest, and caring. I always adored her and now I have gained a wealth of respect as well. Her upbringing assisted in making her into the woman that we see today. This is a must read book for everyone especially women and young ladies.
This book grabbed me from the start. I had to pace myself because I did not want to finish too fast. I am starting the second entry tonight as well. Bravo.
The start was blazing and very entertaining. As the book went along it got harder for me to stay interested. It got back on track later. Overall I enjoyed the book and it is a great read.
I stated this book a few years back and never finished. I picked it up again and I am glad I did. The entire story is full of darkness and gore. This is not my typical genre. I loved how this author talks about the characters as well as the enviroment. I cannot wait to read the sequel.
I picked up this book to get out of my true crime and black history for a moment and sheesh. I enjoyed it from start to finish and the ending made me want to fight the author lol. This series is engaging. It keeps you locked in. There are so spicy parts but not enough to make me hide the book from my momma. Check it out.
Wow. Just wow. This book is so hard to out down. I loved the entire thing. Not usually my genre but came highly recommended. It's a must read.
I enjoyed this book. It is not what I expected but I still loved it. I thought it would get more in-depth about the underground railroad itself. Still, the story was good and the characters were lovable or easy to hate lol. This book gives you hints about what slavery did to all people involved. It also touched on the effects that are still occurring today. This book is a must-read. I hope you enjoy it.
I went back and read this one. Colleen has done it again. I love her books. If you have not I encourage you to check it out.
**** Possible Spoilers*****
Ms. Colleen Hoover is one of my favorite authors. This book took me some time to read due to the assault and mental health aspects. Besides that, the book was a good read.
Asa- your typical “bad guy” he was arrogant, abusive, and a criminal, amongst other things. I was so angry at how highly he thought of himself. That is a typical man though from my experience. I loved the character development due to the backstories being told. He ended up getting what I think he deserved (do not judge me)
Cater-He caused as many problems as he solved. But, without him, the leading lady would have most likely had a horrible ending. He loves fast and hard but to a fault. Love caused him to get involved with Sloan who was a mistake. He is human like we all are. He is a good man. He was my favorite character.
Sloan-Lastly, we have the main character. She is dedicated, loving, and broken. This is the reason she deals with the abuse on top of her brother's situation. I was also mad that she did not ask what he did for work when their relationship started. Especially after her assault on their first date. She constantly made excuses for why these actions kept occurring to her. Sadly, this happens too many times in American culture. People think they have no way out and deal with what they believe they have to so they can survive. I think she is awesome and I am glad she finally found happiness in the end.
This is a good book I loved it. I have read so many of Colleen Hoover's books and I have not read one I did not like yet. This is a book worth reading and I am glad I did. I could on and on I do not want to bore you any more that I have.
I have not read a book by her that I did not like. She once again tied them together I love that. I really disliked the first husband he was no good for her. I am glad the book ended the way it did. This was a good book.
First time reading her books
I thoroughly enjoyed this book. I have downloaded the other two. I couldn't put it down. I read it in a day. I think everyone should give it a shot. I can't wait to see what's in store
