I don't know why I waited so long to read this. I haven't read the other two books in the series but I'm going to now. I didn't know the author was an Aussie until I read the authors note and I didn't know I was missing out on reading a good story set in Australia. I loved all the Australian references and that it felt normal.
The main character, Ellie, has ADHD, and I love this representation. I reported to Ellie's struggles with her neurodivergent brain, and how those who loved her didn't shame her but loved her for it.
Such a great RH/shifter/fated mates romance

August is for Ace introduces us to a visiting animal vet called Everly and Ace, a military vet with his own scars. Love's the main gig, but there's more in the mix.
Imagine this: Everly comes to town, meets Ace. Sparks fly, life gets real. It's all about the connection and the journey – love, vulnerability, healing.
Oh, and there's extra stuff happening too. Subplots pop up, giving the main story some kick. They're like bonus tracks, cool but not the main album.
August is for Ace serves up that cosy small-town feel and some heart-healing moments. Characters? Like friends. Bonds? Like superglue.

“Date with a Diva” by Joanne Rock portrays Lainie Reynolds, a resilient woman recovering from her ex-husband's betrayal. Nico Cesare, determined to win her over, evolves from pursuing physical intimacy to seeking emotional connection. Lainie's guarded past and Nico's past heartbreak make their journey captivating. The subplot involving Bram and Daisy adds complexity but might divert focus from the central romance. Nico's conflicting behaviour raises questions about his sincerity, and its resolution could have been more developed. Despite this, the book captures characters rebuilding after heartbreak and finding love amid personal growth. Joanne Rock's writing weaves a story of healing, love, and the strength of the human spirit.

“The Boyfriend Candidate” is an absolute gem of a rom-com that left me feeling giddy and utterly in love with the characters. The story revolves around Alexis, a school librarian who decides to step out of her comfort zone and embark on her first one-night stand at a bar. There, she meets Logan, who is the epitome of outspokenness, unapologetically himself, and, well, quite a profanity connoisseur
“Feeling Ballsy” by Beck Erixson is an empowering and relatable journey of self-discovery. The story revolves around the close friendship between Elin and Hawk, who face failed relationships and newfound feelings for each other.
When Elin's relationship ends, she leans on Hawk, and their single status sparks an arrangement to preserve their friendship. The novel's handling of sensitive topics and diverse supporting characters add depth to the narrative.
“Feeling Ballsy” is a heartfelt and inspiring tale that celebrates the strength of human connections and the beauty of embracing one's true self.
