Colleen Hoover writes guaranteed page turners!
This story is so much darker and twisted than many of hers I've read and still makes for compulsive reading.
Trigger warning: it's filled with psychological, emotional and physical abuse, leaving the reader rooting for Sloan.
Sloan is living with Asa, a drug dealer. Carter is the undercover cop she falls for.
The story ended at around 75%, so imagine my surprise when there was a long epilogue revealing what happened next!
One of those stories you'll find hard to put down.
What a wonderful story!
My first book from Stella Quinn, won't be my last.
The Vet from Snowy River is rural romance with depth, heart and unforgettable characters.
Vera is a prickly cafe owner caring for Jill, her aunt with dementia, and running from her past, including a court date/trial courtesy of her sleaze bag ex.
Josh is the utterly charming small town vet who is a heart-melter.
I loved that their road to romance was rocky and fraught with obstacles.
And the secondary characters in this lovely story almost steal the show. Graeme the barista, Marigold, Kev, and Poppy, Josh's 15 year old daughter, are a wonderful addition to this layered story.
(And I hope we get Hannah and Tom's story soon!)
This book was truly a delightful surprise for me and I devoured it quickly.
Wow. Loved this!
Stayed up until 1am to finish, devoured in a day.
I can pick plot twists early in books (the joys of being a writer!) and this is the first book in a LONG time that totally surprised me. I did NOT see the twist coming!
Allison is a caring kindergarten teacher who takes new girl Gracie under her wing.
Focussing on helping Gracie get to the US for life-saving treatment helps Allison take her mind off her own problems, namely a marriage breakdown that came out of the blue.
As the plot unfolds, you'll be turning pages at a rapid rate!
Another Rachael Johns novel that I devoured in just over a day.
Ashling is blindsided when her husband Adrian wants them to separate and try nest parenting.
She wants the best for her children and agrees, but it's the last thing she wants.
I loved seeing Ash grow into herself and embrace her unexpected independence.
And Dan is the perfect man to help her do it!
Loved her friendships in Ragged Point and how much she becomes a part of the small coastal town.
A thoroughly enjoyable read!
My first Elin Hilderbrand novel, thoroughly enjoyed it.
Stayed up until 1am to finish and bawled like a baby at the end.
Loved the heroine Mallory, a strong independent woman who made life choices to suit herself and not to please anybody else.
The men in the story paled in comparison.
A real page turner but keep tissues handy at the end.
My first Nicole Trope book, won't be my last.
Devoured this in just over a day, didn't want to put it down.
Lydia experiences every parent's worst nightmare: her 16 year old daughter Zoe goes on a school camp and never comes home.
The story is told from varying point of views: Lydia, the mother, Jessie, Zoe's sister, Bernadette, the teacher in charge, Shayna, Zoe's best friend, and the villain (with a few extra POVs thrown in when we need them.)
Watching this story unfold makes for a compulsive page-turner!
Was lucky enough to get an ARC of this from my publisher and despite my heavy deadlines, I devoured it.
One of those wonderful books you don't want to put down.
It's a lovely tale of self-discovery for mother and daughter, Flick and Zoe, in the vibrant city of New Orleans.
Rachael Johns brings the magical city alive, immersing the reader.
The romance between Flick and Theo is lovely.
We need Zoe's story next please!
A thoroughly enjoyable read.
I can't rave enough about this book.
Read it almost in one sitting, couldn't put it down.
A beautifully told story about a family dealing with ‘an unusual boy'.
Jackson is an 11 year old who's neurodiverse. He's adorable and steals the show.
But when he's embroiled in an unfortunate situation in the toilets at school with a younger student, my heart broke.
To see the story unfold is just wonderful.
Absolutely loved it.
I love Colleen's books I devour them in a day usually.
I knew from the reviews and categories this was a ghost story/paranormal but wow, not what I expected at all.
Kudos to Colleen for stepping outside her comfort zone and writing something completely different. I admire authors who do that.
I won't say much about the plot but...wow. It's out there!
A delightful read and the perfect book to pick up after binge-watching Bridgerton.
Jane Austen time travels from 1803 to 2020 and falls in love.
She befriends Soph, a famous actress filming Northanger Abbey.
What unfolds is a sweet story. Jane is a real fish out of water in 2020 and faces a dilemma.
Stay for love or return for her first love, writing.
Thoroughly enjoyed it.
In a word? BRILLIANT!
I devoured this emotional novel in half a day. Couldn't put it down and that's with my own deadlines!
Such a wonderful story of young love, marriage, fidelity and how one catastrophic event can change everything you believe in.
I rarely cry when reading books but this one made me bawl towards the end.
A beautifully told story of a mother/daughter evolving relationship and how the right man will stand by you no matter what.
Absolutely LOVED IT!!!!!
I recently discovered Kimberly Belle and have read 3 of her books in a few weeks.
This one is my favourite so far!
I devoured this in a day, it's that much of a page-turner.
An occupational hazard of being a thriller writer is picking plot twists early but that didn't diminish my enjoyment of this story one iota. If anything I turned the pages faster to discover how it would play out.
Beth is a kickass heroine that is just brilliant.
Loved all the twists and turns!
Recommend.
Definitely lived up to the hype.
Almost devoured in one sitting, it's that much of a page-turner.
The author does such an amazing job she'll have you believing Daisy Jones and The Six are a real band from the 70s.
The format was nothing like I expected. It read like an interview with frequent changes in POV from band members, girlfriends, etc...
Not what I'd usually buy or read but I'm so glad I did both.
This is a school text for my son next year and I couldn't resist reading it from the blurb alone.
Considering the impact Covid is having on the world at the moment, reading this is chilling, as it's a dystopian novel where a Georgia flu similar to SARS wipes out civilisation and those who survive are left to face challenges and the memories of what they once had.
Such a riveting read.
